              Agreed.

With your attention to detail, which will surely be demonstrated throughout this build, I'm curious why you'd go OBD1...?

This project has been in the works for a very long time. I'm most familiar with how to do the OBD1 conversion, so I planned on doing it that way and have been sourcing the parts accordingly. Reading up, I guess I could do OBD2, however I do not see any added benefit in doing that (at this point).

Motor pulled. Wasted a bit of time getting the car positioned so that there was enough room for the hoist but once we started the pull, the motor came out pretty quick.

Yes, blanket overkill. Gotta protect that paint

                      Stay tuned.

Seems like the blanket could make it worse. You have got to be able to see what's going on and where your at..

Nah, I could see what was going on and the motor couldn't have come out any cleaner. The car is all original paint and original body panels, I wasn't going to take any chances.

I do know that OBD2 has the ability to practically pinpoint an issue versus throwing parts at it. It's also my understanding that OBD2 ECUs are capable of more efficient mappings, which means more power. There are many folks more knowledgeable than me on the added benefits of OBD2 > OBD1; hopefully they will chime in. Obviously it's your swap to build as you please and I'm sure it will be great either way.
