Too bad it's ugly as fuck with the square plate. Why wouldn't you round off the edges at least to match the profile of the bellhousing?

I bet he later did that. I can't see anyone leaving those squared off edges like that.

        Proof of concept though.

Thanks! I hadn't seen that one, but had seen the one he references with the Richmond Overdrive transmission.

          There's also this: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...&postcount=295

Adapter plate to mate a Getrag 265 up to an S62.

Yes i think there is an option with the M70 and other gearboxes,,, via , doing what we have seen here ..

i was thinking doing G420 (V8) because the bellhousing is very similar ,, but was offered the G560

Don't get me wrong it just looks massive so I really wondered how much it weighed! Pardon my bad manners, this swap really does look fantastic! If I opened that hood to anyone they would shit bricks.

Well,, have been driving a,,,,,,,,,, little,,,,,,,,, as the winter is still coming occasionally..
((Everybody is getting crazy about the weather))

But i can see that the biggest issue is still the cooling ,, i MUST cut in to the frame between the hings of the hood and get the radiator as big as possible,,

i have 2 electric fans.. and the thermostat is out,, and on a chilly morning i am cruising with 80°c and in traffic the temp is 92-95 °c with the fans constant blowing

                        Put your thermostat back!!!
In many BMW engines hot thermostat not only opens the engine cooling loop into the radiator, but also CLOSES the bypass circulation loop off the engine!
You need to fabricate and put in a flow restrictor to have proper circulation without a thermostat!
You even might have severe overheating in some peculiar points in your heads and your temp sensor not showing it because coolant circulation around the engine is disturbed!

^he's right, a thermostat is absolutely required for proper cooling. Taking it out will actually cause far more problems than it will solve.

Ok,, thanks for the advice,,, what about drilling some holes in the outer flange of the thermostat ??

I have an accurate temp sensor ,, that controls the timing of the electric fans,, + gives me
on the VDO gauge precisely the accurate temp of the water

I have the same gauges in mine :)

Many OEM replacement thermostats already come with a small pilot hole drilled in them to aid bleeding. It shouldn't have any effect on cooling.
