    Stay strong man!

I remember when I temporarily lost use of my left hand and it terrified the shit out of me. Its still not 100% and will never be 100% again. Its a sad thing getting older, but it sucks more when its injuries that other idiots cause to make you not 100%.

My ankle is also never going to be 100% again, but that injury was sustained during a particular turkey bowl when I was Al Bundy-ing it up... 3 touchdowns in one game

Today was an especially hard day.

How does one go from zero health problems and consider that normal, to not even being able to lift a laptop with one hand without searing chest pain, or the very act of rolling up a window causes huge pain to the point that I have to stop everything just to catch my breath? This is not how I envisioned things.

Not to mention I live on the second floor of the house. Looking at those steps every day is like looking at the peak of Everest from base camp. Sometimes I just hobble away because I can't do it. It's such a terrible feeling not even being able to put your own shirt on because the lifting your right arm over your head puts stress on your chest.

I hate that I have to take pain killers just to sleep. Twice now I've tried to sleep without pain medicine only to wake up at 4am with such intense chest, head, and lower back pain. This is pain no burrito can fix. I feel like I was hit by a train.

I just had two fresh surfboards shaped for this summer surf season and the thought of trying to paddle out in my current condition terrifies me.

Please stay safe out there. It's one thing to lose a car, but it's another thing to lose mobility of your limbs and essentially your health. Not fun.

Having to see this is one kind of pain, but being scared to laugh because it will cause me to bend over with overwhelming chest pain; well, that's a new kind of depressing reality I didn't understand until today.

I can usually keep my cool and act like things are good, but right now, things suck. Things really suck.

Depends on the coverage, unfortunately. If not at fault, then you are at the mercy of the other cars' insurance unless you have full coverage to compensate - which classic/collector car insurance usually is.

Only way to get true coverage on these older cars is to use someone like Hagerty. Then it has to be a garaged, second car that you use for shows or weekends etc, but they give awesome coverage. Gave me full stated value on the total loss of my e30 which is about four times what I would have in a regular insurance claim.

If the cops are on your side, that's a damn good start I would say.. Did they ever find out if the van driver was texting or being distracted possibly?

In an earlier post, it was said the van made an illegal turn in front of the '02.

Wow. I've been firefighting since 1996, and this is among some of the worst I have seen, that didn't require extraction tools. I really hope you are planning on suing the crap out of the other driver.
