I love this thing. I'm fixing every rust issue now. With the right care which I'm gonna give it this thing will last forever I'm gonna keep it forever way to much sentimental value tbh.

Definitely let me know when your back! I should hopefully have the motor in by then. I finished undercoating today and then pulled the front subframe and put the reinforcement plates on. Also am in the process of finishing ordering my suspension parts besides camber plates and front front struts. I got poly control arm bushings some sway bar bushings and end links. Also got some MOOG racing ball joints, I'm gonna put those in before doing the engine since I pulled the subframe and had to unhook most.

Not much of an update one none the less didnt take pictures though cause you cant really photo graph theses things haha. Anyways I put my my front subframe back in with new sway bay and control arm bushings I got poly control are bushings I got my endlinks on and hooked up and the steering rack re connected. I pulled the drive and am gonna look for one. Tomorrow is payday Hopefully I can get my camber plate and tie rod ends ordered then I can get my coilovers built by Ironfreak. hopefully if i have time in the next day or so I can get the motor and tranny dropped in so I can start connection stuff but I feel like with the problems I'm having with my harness and getting it to convert and connect. It may take a while. My parts list is getting smaller but I'm just getting down to the big money items haha.

So today was attempt number one on dropping the motor in and it was an epic fail. Turns out to get a m30 to fit is euro spec cars you need to bang the firewall in about 5 spots not 1. I'll let the pics explain..
I'm as far back as i can get with out more firewall modification and still need to go back this much more....
Valve cover clearance
there looks like room to move back but there isnt because this stupid ass thing
it protrudes out about an inch past the block and tranny and it is part of the block the damn thing cant go back any further unless i bang my tranny well to allow it to go back. I ultimaley gave up for the night tomorrow I'm gonna bang the firewall more and try and get this bitch in idk why I'm struggling this motor swap has become the swap from hell i swear...

I'm in position two with the motor all way to the front. I just got done banging the floor wells and the firewall some more for clearance. Idk if anyone else with euro cars has done this but from what I'm gathering and how this motor is sitting I'll be able to run a fan clutch I'll have like 4 inch gap between my rad and motor. Rual take notes from me haha I bet you run into very similar problems with your 320i.

Update.
MOTOR IS IN!!!!
after much cussing kicking and screaming the motor is now in....
I do have to say that m30 looks damn good in the bay.... I got the old 1.1 motronic wiring harness taken off and started mapping out the late model harness i can tell its gonna be a headache. I need to find a bunch of m30b35 sensor to get the harness to connect rightGot the radiator mounts in to fit the mishimoto. I'm have troubles getting the tranny to sit on its mount its seem to want to sit cockeyed in the tranny well. also waiting for shifter assembly to get in from my man Steve at blunttech so i can get that fitted and assembled. Since the motor is in my dad is gonna start the sanding and doing the bondo work since I hate it and hes good at it should be ready for primer by the end of july.
