Hey guys, I'm Mat and I'm an aussie drifter.
I've recently purchased a 1985 bmw e30 3.2.5 e for the purpose of drifting it.
In Western Australia the drift seen consists of nothing but Nissans. I decided to change that by drifting my heavy ford ute for the last 2 years. I have entered 2 state battles and qualified top 5 and placed top 8 over all on both attempts =)
Here is my favourite video =)
here is the ute project pics, vids and running gear specs: http://www.xfalcon.com/forums/index....ild-302-build/
In summary the engine was built from the block up by me, makes 331rwhp and revs to 8g. The motor has had no issues over the last 3 years of being abused.
I do love this ute and it's great to stick it to the ricers but it's time for a change but ofcourse I didn't want to be a sheep and follow everyone else with the nissan chassis so i went Euro spec!
I've always had a soft spot for the e30, I had it stuck in my head that they would cost a fortune to purchase and run. Turns out this is not the case so I picked one up for $1,300! and being a bmw everything works almost 30yrs later! Added bonus is that my ford running gear is somewhat of a common conversion and that's where all my money, blood, sweat and tears is.
Here is the tear down of the bmw, what an ease this thing was to pull apart!
The engine mounts I made thanks to e30v8 for supplying the blueprints! (just tacked together)
Apart from that I have now fully stripped the old ute of parts. Next on the list is to mod the oil pan and do an engine clean up. Once that is done I'll be dropping it in =)
