Don't take this the wrong way but it is after all her car, she gets the same kind of thing at the racetrack when we are both there. 99% of the time if someone is curious about her racecar they come up to me and ask first. When I am at the track helping out in a t shirt and jeans and a beer in my hand and she is in her race suit they still ask me about the car like I own it and drive it... like she routinely dresses up like a racecar driver just to hang out in the paddock. It gets quite annoying after a while but I never really noticed it until she pointed it out to me and then I really started picking up on it. Again, I am not saying nor implying anything about you but I just wanted to point that out.

Have you seen the 76 2002 listed on C-list NoVa? Was wondering if Marshall had as well. Presents itself well.

The blue one with the rally lights? If I'm not mistaken that car used to be local to the Winchester area, if its the same car it always looked solid however the last time I saw it was probably 15 years ago. Lately I have been hunting cars a little more.... aircooled.

I was wondering what was happening with this car. Glad to see an update.

Haven't really been working on it much after we found out about the paint issue but it should go pretty quickly from here. We have gathered a few cool parts for this car that will be fun to install including a basically new old stock set of suspension technique sway bars, E21 recaros and some cool old school 15" ACT wheels.

Long time with no updates but now we are back at it. Since the primer used in the original respray was not very high quality my freind at the body shop recommended taking at least the outer painted surfaces down to bare metal. This was obviously hard to stomach but we didn't want to risk having the paint bubbling after the all the trim was back on so we started sanding and sanding and sanding. Here's some progress, note the new drivers door has been hung but the hinge is not in the correct position so the door is not aligning. The hood and trunk lid have been sanded down (about one full day of labor in each panel!) epoxy primered and temporarily installed to see how they are lining up.

One positive out of all this is we know there is some really nice metal under that paint



If you look at this thread in reverse its now a car that appears to have been painted then taken back to Colorado! Haha?
