I think actually the valves were hitting the pistons, the pistons have marks from the valves.

I have one on my car, but nothing there?

This? It holds the coil, not needed for a S52, as it's coil on plug.

My car has the same attachment, so must just be something they did to every e30? My coil is on the other side of the engine compartment:)
