Also I cannot get TunerStudio to display the correct AFR. My GG display shows a 13-14ish but TS shows a unmoving 9.70, even though I've set my AFR to LC1-LC2 and even custom input the curve (0V=7.35 AFR, 5V = 22.39 AFR). Ideas? -
Right, I'm having some MS2 problems. I keep getting a warning that "RPM Not Synced", which AFAIK means the RPM measurement method is not correct. However I've set it up to whodwho's instructions as "TACHOUT" and "ON", yet my tach meter is non responsive and it wont idle. I can hold it at 1K, 2K, 3K, etc using the throttle, but no idle. It surges between 400-700 and eventually dies. I'm kind of stumped; I've tired multiple tacho output modes and nothing works. Ideas?
I have no idea what changed from 5 days ago, I haven't touched it. Yet here I am...Leave a comment:

Make sure you have a dedicated vacuum line for the MAP sensor or you could run into some issue. I suppose a boost gauge isn't really using too much, but that's just what they reccomend in the mega manual.

I'm just thrilled that I don't have to actually drill+tap my manifold for the sensor. At first I didn't realize it's actually attached to the MS board, so I was preparing to pull the intake and mount it there. Now all I have to do is tee off the vacuum line I've already run to the gauge cluster for my Econoboost gauge, and run a few feet of 1/8" line from the cluster to the glove box. Easy!.Leave a comment:

FYI you can use the wires from the AFM connector for your IAT.
Edit: Wow, must have browsed over the part you mentioned that. I'm losing my mind. Running the MAP hose is really no trouble at all. Good luck! Glad to see someone else using MS.Last edited by ZenitramNaes; 02-10-2016, 05:47 PM.Leave a comment:

Looks good! They rotated the compressor housing about 180* it looks like, but that won't affect anything. If anything it might help you route your charge piping, depending on where you want to go with it.Leave a comment:

Since I was planning on throwing it in my ix I was pretty sure I was going to have issues with the subframe. I also picked one up last week.

Wow, haven't checked this thread in a bit. Anyway good news! My MS2 box from whodwho is on its way!! Which means soon this beast can fire up. I still have a few small things to tackle (running a vacuum/boost line to the glove box for the MAP sensor and place the IAT sensor and wire it to the old AFM harness. But those should go quick. Then its off to the welder to get boost pipes made, and then to the tuner!
Yes, I'll try and get some photos next time I'm under the car. This is a bottom-mount obviously and everything clears perfectly, no contact with the subframe or frame rails/engine bay sheetmetal. Most m30 guys run top-mount manifolds however, as it makes the intake and charge piping much easier.Any chance you could grab some lighted pictures under the car of the turbo and manifold. Also maybe some dimensions of the turbo, like how far down it sits from the exhaust ports and how long it is. I'm starting to look into doing a M30 turbo more and more and I'm worried about clearance issues.Leave a comment:
