Wow! Just amazing on how you have saved a piece of BMW history!

I think that's the best way to do it.... if you're going to fix it, fix it properly and don't cut corners - which you haven't.

AWESOME! * two thumbs up *

Did not write for a period of time. Nothing significant happened. Was busy with small things (installed sunroof, BC calibrationg...)
Also installed the armrest. In order not to drill the body, I used 3 mm steel stripe to create the mount.
Appeared to be very solid and comfortable set up.

Would appreciate if you can advise on the front weel: do you think it seats correctly in the arch? To me it is a little bit backward. Some say that I can move the forward using excentric rubber bearings.
But first I would like to know if this is OEM set up. My car is from 1986, with standard rubber bearings and arms.

                  Thanks

                    Hi,
Front wheels are meant to be back in the front wheel arch that is original and the way they all are looks slightly strange but it is correct.

Thanks. I am also coming to this conclusion, looking at the number of M3 pictures in the Internet

But still questioning: is it worth swapping the bushing for excentric from the 2nd generation? Or it is bad for suspention and steering rack?

It's not bad for anything, they are a common upgrade item that increases caster and high-speed stability.

                            who painted the car?
Sorry. Missed it. The car was painted by the same guys, who welded and iceblasted it. For sure, they have a dedicated person who does only painting )
                            The color is DiamantSchwarz Metallic
The paint is from Standox, the ppolish is from 3m Lasurit.

For the moment decided to leave it as it is, as now I am convinced that it is original set up. This is not a race car so it does not mean to much how sharp can be the turn it supports.
