I'm thinking of doing a tribute still ... but not restricting myself strictly to a complete replica. I think in the end I'd really like to get 250whp out of the car but that's exceedingly difficult with a n/a m20 - and I bought that darn valve cover (lol curse my impulsiveness) So now I'm thinking of eventually (key word) building a metric mechanic 2900 m20 or something. In long run - spending 20k on a e30 seems pretty ridiculous but hey we're in it for the experience right :) I'd rather have built something myself for 20k than buy whatever econobox is out there right now ::thumbs::

Can't wait to see more progress with your car. It drives me to keep chugging away and not give up on mine haha:up:
Hi: The valance is primed, need to use 3-M tape. I am going to try not to use holes, but we will see how that works:).
250hp might be hard to get, but there are more people on here that know more about engines....mine is suppose to have 193, but that is with pistons, crank, head work, headers, and maybe some intake work. I can't tell if the intake has been worked on by hartge. I did find one on German e-bay that was a real hartge intake....guy wanted 500 euros:)....I think if you are keeping the car for a long time and enjoy it as a dd, then it is taking the place of a 20k econobox then you have not spent anymore money. If you sell it, expect to get half of what you spent:).

My car is on hold until the end of May because of the move....:)

I was scrounging eBay UK and .de for a long time to see if I could find a set internationally. I got lucky and found them on the UK site and I instantly offered the full asking price + 100 pounds (125$) extra. Then I figured I'd just buy them instead and try to convince the seller to ship them. So I did that haha. Initially he was like "why did you buy them and screw up by listing" but after checking around, we were able to ship them for about 300 pounds. There were some issues initially because DHL wouldn't take them with full inflated tires. So after two weeks of delays and hassle with the shipping company, they were shipped via DHL express air on Thursday. Got them this Saturday (crazy fast shipping). The total price was 1750 for all four including tires that have about 90 and 80% tread!! :)

looking for the front emblem and steering wheel now...
That is great, and it shows those who are looking for the 16 wheels what it might take to get them:). I will have a set of 15" for sale pretty soon.. Sure would like to get some decent cash for them, but we shall see about that.
The hartge is sort-of on hold for a few weeks, while we move. We have a really low curb, or high curb in our driveway, and I am not taking the chance of messing up the front spoiler.
So when we get over to the new house in about 3 weeks, I will begin the process of the painting etc. to get the spoiler on....of course someday everything will come back off to have the car really painted correctly. Stripes will go on in June:)
    until then.........packing and more packing......:)

    Question on the hartge h26???

This might not be the best place to ask this question, but does anyone know how many of the h26 cars were built by Hartge and then how many might have been built at authorized dealers such as Kohl Automotive???
I am thinking there can't be many; it would be pretty expensive to buy the car and then have all the major systems taken out and tossed to make room for the hartge parts:)

makes sense. can you share front and rear width and offset info on your 3 piece Hartges?

there's plenty of room on the inside of the wheel in back - 2" or more clearance to the side of a stock tire... so a high offset wheel works great back there, no fender rolling..

definitely not the case up front. I'm running 15x7 stock euroweaves with less than 1/4" clearance to the shock tower!
