    This is so cool. Always loved these trucks. I'm partial to 4x4 models, but still. Great work!

    Early models do it better.

      Cool rebuild, I had the exact same truck for a few years except it was red. 4-speed manual with zero creature comforts. It was awesome, but I just sold it recently for a '99 Tacoma.

      I gotta ask, what is going on here? How does this gear work and what is its function? It doesn't make sense to me by looking at it:

          ^yep! Some Bmw engines use similar pumps. The M42 uses a crank driven one just like this.

                Peel N Seal. It can be had at Home Depot for about $17 per roll. It works exactly the same as fatmat or any other audio insulator. It works well at reducing road noise especially in a little tin can truck.

                  Makes perfect sense now. Even though I'm happier with my slightly newer tacoma you're sure making me miss my old little pickup
