Why did you buy 100ft worth of that neoprene?! lol how much did you actually need? Im going to swap my dash in the near future and Im sure my foam will be toast. I'll buy some off of you..

Awesome awesome build, just went threw the hole thread and will definitely be back for more. Love the attention to the caulking on the fenders. I was actually going to quote your post a couple pages back, but decided it wasn't worth it. Now that you posted the results it was a perfect opportunity to speak on it :D
Can't wait to see the final product, the cars sure to be in the top best restored e30 coupes.
The drivetrain is on a pallet at work waiting for when I'm ready for them.
M54b30 is from a 2004 330i AT Convertible that was woman owned with 118k miles. Car was in front end collision. Engine ran great although vehicle was not drivable. Compression test came back 200psi across the board. Nice healthy engine.
GS6-37bz is from a 2003 Z4 that was woman owned with 122k miles.

Looking at this build is almost like watching it go through the assembly line in slow motion. If you know what I mean? Level of work is super expert, sir. Simply AWESOME. I Always check on this thread once a day, regardless of an update.

What will you be doing with respect to rebuild of the M54?
Bearings, guides, valve job, etc.?
Everything else on the car is new, figured you wouldn't skimp on the engine either. Esp for $25k... A brand new car with 122k on the drive train straight off the Jordan assembly line.....
I have to pull at least one of the main caps while I'm reworking the sump pickup, if it shows wear I'd replace them, if not its best left alone.
And you've performed a leak down test to confirm you aren't getting excessive blow by your piston rings, valves, or valve guides? Compression tests aren't able to tell the whole story on engine health.

I'm well aware of how to do a leak down test thanks. I'll make sure I do one just for you, have it notarized and send you the results via certified mail.

Can I get CC'd please. I want to make sure there is some third party oversight and transparency in this much needed leak down test.
In other news. This is a build done right. Superb attention to detail and on top of that the pace of work completed is refreshing. Good to see a project in drive.
