Yes. The both use the same mounting points. No modifications needed.

OK so last night I did some work, but they pretty much went to sleep... and I decided to (sorta) take this evening off... so yesterdays update today!

Last night I returned home with the roof foam insert from a donor car at work. The previous owner had removed most of mine by force and left only small chucks for me to finish removing. It is removable intact although it definitely requires a gentle touch and some patience. It appears to still be available new but I wanted to not waste the $70 on this if I didn't have to.

This foam provides a backing for the headliner, a locking mechanism for the headliner bows, and it shapes the sunroof opening contour. The burnt looking areas are the only adhesive.

I have no idea what the factory actually used but I like the hell out of Weldwood Contact Cement. I purchased it in aerosol form for this foam.

Since I didn't want any possible overspray to settle on the carpet or paint I masked off the work area:

I then sprayed the contact cement on both the roof and the foam, then joined the two after a few minutes. With the foam set solidly in place I unpacked the headliner.

This headliner is a Alcantara type material, and it is made by a forum member on R3V "AK-" He will be bringing them to market as a forum offering soon, and if you're interested in one you should PM him.

Inserting the metal bows that run side to side:

Using brush on Weldwood Contact Cement to pull the headliner tight over the window frames and set it in place. This is the part that requires the most diligence, and you may have to pull it off and reposition as you go to get any wrinkles smoothed out with even tension. A rush job here will leave the headliner looking bad with sags and wrinkles.

Nearly done now, save for the sunroof cutout which I will tackle this weekend:

This evening I got word that another order of parts came in from BMW of Houston North so I went by there on my way home to pick up some more goodies. New fuel door spring (new design) fuel cap, fuel filler shroud, more hardware, heat shielding, transmission cross member for the GS6-37BZ, and the biggest treat a new OE BMW windshield.

Part number for the new fuel door spring please... the one on my turbo car bounces around on poor pavement and has always been a pet peeve of mine.

Nice work on that headliner. I too use Weldwood CC whenever doing headliners. I load it into a HVLP top loader gun and spray it on. Works great, but cleaning out the gun can be interesting. Usually use the $10 Harbour Freight one so if it gets clogged I don't care.

The new revised spring is 51171888374

Its about $1, and it seems to hold the door shut with more tension.

FYI landau glue from DAP is an interior type glue used for upholstery and vinyl tops. It's the closes thing to what factory uses.

Car looking good Jordan. Great attention to detail as always.

This build looks amazing. I was showing it to a friend and mentioned it was being built to be sold and he asked what I thought it would go for. I said 35-40k. Then I read a few more pages into the actual discussion about selling it. 25k is really underselling what will be a nearly new car, imho. I trust you know more about your local market than I do, but goddamm, this is a sweet build.

Best of luck with enjoying, selling, and I look forward to more updates.

Absolutely agree that it would be underselling it.
Anyone that thinks that it should be worth less than 25k has never built a car like this...

I didn't get to do much in the garage today as I feel like death with some upper respiratory crud, but I did get a few things done.

Rear windshield gasket and glass installed, I was reminded at length how much I hate installing locking strips while I make sure not to slip and gouge the paint.

OE BMW front windshield new in the box it comes in, quite well packed:

New front windshield installed in gasket:

                          New fuse box cover:

                          New door seals:

Putting locking strips in is a bitch. The worst is the corner pieces I still haven't done mine haha. New windshield looks nice. Didn't know BMW had them still I ended up finding a good used one.

The new windshield is 350 or so list. Those door seals are about $300/ea list. Ack!
