Got the headers and front half of the exhaust that I fabricated back from TIG over at IDB Racing. Everything turned out nice. I'll throw this back on the car tomorrow and then I can start fabricating the rear half.

Hahaha thanks Matt. I've never had 16's on an E30 before but I could not be happier with these.

I've been plugging away at the completion list, crossing small items off left and right. This evening I actually did a few interesting things I can post about.

First off I got my virgin spare from Tony today, it cleaned up really nice. The original tire and wheel weights still present. The OE 14" basketweaves really look sharp with glossy paint on them. I cleaned the assembly profusely, then further cleaned the tire with lacquer thinner. To top it off I coated the tire with 303, let it stand for a few minutes, then buffed it to a natural satin sheen.

Done with that task I moved my attention to the sunroof panel, which I'd just picked back up from Imperial today. I'd dropped it off with them again a few weeks ago as it just had too many little specs of trash in the clear so they wet sanded it and recleared it, wet sanded it again and buffed it to a beautiful mirror shine.

I installed the new 1 piece sunroof felt seal on the panel and took a picture.

After this I set it in place on the car and as I went to get it lined up quickly realized that the left and right rails were not perfectly synced.... dammit. The drivers side was just a touch behind the passenger side and it was causing bind/pop issues over the roof threshold.

I had to take the panel back off, loosen the drive mechanism and play with the cables a few times until I got it just right. While I was in there I installed a new pair of front rail guides as they were a little deteriorated. A half hour later I was dropping the panel back in place, and setting the parked alignment with the roof. Happy to be done with that one. E30 sunroofs are pretty simple and accessible compared to later models, but still a paint in the butt.

Fucking incredible! The wheels and tires couldn't be more perfect too.

Neither the front or rear is perfectly spaced, I've just got them slid into place for the time being. Both will need to be adjusted and that is on the completion check list.
