Too much for me, 225/45 goes great on a 9", not a 10". 245/40 is perfect in my opinion. But to each their own!

So a friend dropped off his cherry picker for me to see what needs to be done to the firewall. These mounts push the motor farther back and down than others on the market supposedly. Instead of pounding the firewall. I figured I'd cut and patch it back up for a more factory look.
Started out by installing the IE oil pump baffle. So I cleaned the pan as best as I can.
Marked where I need to drill holes.
I used a 1/4" drill bit
Then I bolted em down.
Put the pan and the rear main seal on.
Then I saw what I was working with.
I set it in there and right away I knew I needed to remove part of the firewall that overhangs about a inch & a half.
So I marked where I should cut and pulled it back out to put it back on the stand.
I cut more across than needed because at I thought it would look funny if it was just a small patch indented off centered. Gonna patch this in. Gotta get some good sheet metal. This should give me the room I need to fit it. Will try again tomorrow.

[QUOTE=pandaboo911;4591906]Haha good times. Still got the center console from that car sitting in my garage. Ask Pablo if he'll sell it Brandon
Who's this? Haha! I'm not decided how I wanna do interior. So far set in stone is a cage, 2 fixed back seats, carpet. Not sure if I wanna go full racecar and remove dash.

So instead of fighting the windshield wiper tray and cutting a big piece out of it. I figured I'd take it all out. This made it so simple the drop the engine in.
Drilling spot welds was fun haha. Got pretty good at it by the time I was done.
Then this dropped in so easy.
Plenty of room for stock exhaust. Not using it though.
Should be plenty of room for booster and steering box.
Now that it fits. Time to fill all the holes and re-prime. Still fighting the rear hub. That's my next task so I can put it back down on 4 wheels. Put in a order with Blunt today.

Nice, never seen the wiper tray cut out like that. You worried about how the rain and everything will drain? I don't see it being an issue, just curious on your thoughts. The engine looks good in there!!!clutchCTRL!Move with a purpose.- 1991 325iX 4dr/5spd- 1976 2002 SlickTop/2.7i M20/G260- 2000 323i AT2016 Mazda CX3 Sport AWD

This car is not a daily. It prob won't see the rain...live in CA for one...for two. I'm pretty sure the hood covers this no matter what.
