    Hank's Red Ricer Resurrection

    No affiliation with Hank Bukowski
Well, the other day I bought my third e30. To go with the theme on r3v, “I just drove my car more than 10 miles. Time for a build thread!”
To preface everything, I'm just going to put some things that you should know about me out there...
    1. I'm 18, in college, and I don't have a whole lot of disposable income
    2. I'm not funded by "mommy and daddy"
    3. I'm not new to classic Bimmers, this will be my fourth.
    4. I like to learn. If you think I'm doing something wrong, please let me know. I'm open to all ideas.

So yeah, that's what's up. Now, on to the cars...

My first love, a 1995 530i 5 speed with an m60b40 under the hood. It was so much god damn fun. It was my first car, and I saved up for it by splitting wood all summer. And I kind of sort of took advantage of a guy's bad situation and only paid 1900 for it. To be fair he was only asking 2500. A suspension overhaul and a clutch job down the road, and I sold it in April.

My second. A 1990 alpine white on tan 325i coupe. Fresh paint, is weaves. It was fun, but not quite what I was looking for. I felt pretty bad even putting suspension work on it. I ended up selling it in early October.

My third. A 1991 alpine coupe. This car was a blast to drive, looked good, and was very tastefully modified. I polished her off and she was really a cool old car. I’d get thumbs up wherever I would go. I sold her to a doctor that is into classic racing on Monday. Really cool guy, has a few alphas, an air cooled Porsche, and he wanted an e30 as a daily. He told me stories about his father’s e30 m3. The car is going to a very good home.

So that brings me to this, my third e30, fourth bimmer. I knew that I wanted a red or black car, as white had become too plain for me. I have nothing against alpine cars, I just found it hard to give it a distinguished look. I don’t think I’ll have much of a problem with that now.

    List of ricer/ghetto mods:
Aluminum gauge rings, one of which has fallen off
    Super hot chrome steering wheel
    Vulva front lip
    17 inch esm wheels
    Red sparco racing seats
    A bumping sound system
    Red silicon coolant hoses
Is spoiler stuck on with double sided tape
Other miscellaneous things a Honda kid would like

PLANS: shit I have sitting at my house waiting has an asterisk
    Moon roof*
    Euro trim*
    Front and rear strut brace*
Golf ball shift knob*- I’m thinking about running a condor
    New rear seat*
    Mtech 1 spoiler*
Renown* or Momo wheel. I have a 130r sitting at my house.
Style 5 fill and drill with a machined face. Or maybe turbo style wheels.
    Recaro seats
    Suspension refresh
Timing belt/water pump – this is my first order of business
Plans for the power? Well, we’ll just have to see. Boosted m20? An s52 sounds reasonable and cheap(ish). An s54 would be awesome, but hard to improve power, An ls2 would be my dream swap, hate me. I’ll have to see what makes sense financially in the long run. I’m pretty good at making money for how young I am.
    Plans as of 12/22/15.
    -turbo m20
    -flared body - rocket bunny-esque
-fifteen52 tr- wide wheels and meaty ass tires
    -semi-stripped interior. Getting there already
    -simplified electronics.
    -roll cage/4 point bar
    -another 130r
    -scattered alpina stuff
    -no more chrome anywhere
    -lightweight door cards.
So now comes the fun part, getting it started. I’ll update this thread with pictures when I can. I just wanted to get it started before I go on break and become lazy. Feel free to pester me if I don’t update this thread, in fact I would really appreciate it.

Lmao. That's the po's idea of a kick ass stereo system. Non-airbag underdash is needed.

Having partially financed this project by buying his very nice '91 325i, I'll be following this thread with interest. (Hi Hank).

Ha, I saw your white car on CL (guess that's Nader's car now), looked really nice. Cant wait to see what you do with the red one.

I'm on my 3rd E30 too, I guess I better get my own build thread going.

just a little peek of the future...

If anyone is wondering, two sets of wheels will easily fit into the cab of a coupe e30.

Anyone want to pitch in on the adapters vs fill and drilll arugument? I'm leaning towards 42 draft adapters at this point.
