I'm sure the aluminum one is lighter, but IMO the one piece steel flywheel is harder to fuck up making, and probably lasts longer.
I meant the pressure plate, usually they spray paint them blue. I guess they were feeling lazy that day? lol.
Just looks way better without the blue, I wish they'd just stop...Leave a comment:

I believe FX sells two kinds of flywheels, blue which is aluminum and mine which is chromoly.Weird that your pressure plate isn't blue? or did you just buy it separately from the flywheel?
I'm running the FX stage 3, so very similar to yours besides a 6-puck sprung disc. Really happy with it so far, just concerned about how much it really holds, and how short the lifespan of the 6-puck will be.
I've read the chromoly is better so that's the one I went with.Leave a comment:

So I've got my engine on a stand, but I might buy an s52 parts-car friday so this one will be up for grabs or parts.
My good friend "ArtFoodBmw" traded me his 2.93 LSD for my 3.73 so I'm set in the realm of differentials, and I ordered a clutch/flywheel setup that should be here next week.
The last thing I need to figure out is what header setup I'll be going with.Leave a comment:

Misfortunes.
Long story short.
My getrag blew 3 gears up, I ate a sandwhich, I bought an m54 intake cam, and I'm going to pull a ZF from the junkyard.
(Video of me pulling my motor, and yes most of these clips where intended to be funny.)Leave a comment:
