I was visiting my parents so I stop by to check out the car and was able to get some work done. Half of the AC were removed, and wiper reservoir was deleted.

I test fitted the sparco brace and fit like a glove. Thank God the wheel wall is holding up well.

I start off with wiper reservoir removal.

        Bye AC compressor, and hoses

I will be putting this in when I strip the differential down to rebuild. I have been doing a lot of research on differential rebuild so this should be interesting when the time comes.

This week is 1/2 off day at the local yard so I went out and got some more parts for the manual swap. I paid $210 for everything.
I was planning on getting the flywheel as well but that sucker is a dual mass, so I passed on it. I plan on hitting more yards this weekend and hopefully I can find a single mass flywheel. What year did BMW starting putting in single mass flywheel in for their m20? I don't want to go through all the trouble removing the tranny and found out the hard way.

          Finally got the sucker out

I race a nsx on the way home and got smoke, Lol. jk
          nsx look so nice rolling.

I got everything home and will be transporting it to my brother's shop this coming up weekend.
Is it safe to pressure washer the tranny? I don't want any water getting inside and rusting things out. Should I do that after all the seals are replaced?

Also, came home to this. My ST xta coilovers for my m3 got delivered today. I wasn't expecting it since THmotorsport never send me a tracking number. I waited two weeks and no tracking was ever provided. I called them on Tuesday and they told me my money hasn't gone through yet, which was a lie. PayPal show they have receieved the money on Jan. 29th. I will never order anything through them again. Just something to rant about.

The 2 sensors on the bellhousing will tell you if it has a dual mass turd.

Is it really? Are those sensors needed if I go single mass?

No just cut the wires off and leave the sensors in place just so garbage doesn't get in. That's the way I have my trans. I also have a larger throw out bearing to compensate for the longer belllhousing. Just throw in a single mass and get a 325i clutch kit

This is my first auto to manual swap so I could use all the help I can. Thanks for the info.

Your welcome. If you look in the transmission thread you can find the part number for the longer throw out bearing. Make sure to put sealant or kuril t on the outside edges/threads of the seals of the trans.

I'll look into it when the tranny is ready to mount.

some people have used oven cleaner to get the "new" paint off down to the old. I have never done it. I would try in an inconspicous area

I have used it on oily car parts before but never on paint. I'll give a spot on the hood a try. I'll report back on the result.

The plan today was to fix the hood latch cable and finish removing the AC. Well, I end up kicking the stuck sunroof out and remove the headliner. I want the sunroof out so I'm debating if I should leave the sunroof tray on and weld in some support brackets to hold the sunroof panel or take that 25 lbs tray out and weld in a panel. Creating a panel to weld on is the hard part. We'll see though.

On with the pictures for the day.
