It's apparently a FedEx thing. I ordered from BMW. So I guess we'll see how it shakes out. I'm dead in the water until those damn bolts get here, unless I wanna pay 2x as much a get main bearing studs....which I don't.
If the M52 studs will work, Amazon has them for $136 and Prime delivery..

M6x ones are the same part #. Looked into the M52 bolts/studs but they are 25mm shorter bolts. M10x75 vs M10x100 for M70.

My elusive, "explosive", main bearing cap bolts showed up today. ^_^

Time to build a fuckin' engine.

They were stuck in customs because apparently they are explosive.

.....honestly I think the coating BMW puts on them mayyyyy be to blame, IDK, maybe it tipped off the sniffer?

Who knows. I got them. This thing is going together tomorrow after work.

Bottom end basically together. Waiting to get the head studs before I can get the lower oil pan and lower, outer timing cover on.

                She's a beauty.

Waiting on timing tools now, so I loosely put the covers on.

SO....I'm debating on painting the cam covers and intake manis red crinkle, but I'd wanna do it Ferrari style...with the boxy plenums red, and the runners alum.

                              Thoughts?

I love the clean look, but this engine has some secrets deep inside...
