I had a `95 Ti which was sort of an in between car after my S50 E30 and the following "proper" E36. I went back to a Ti for a reason...I prefer it. Yes, the multilink is nice for comfort and added high speed stability in turns but the semi-trailing arm setup can work fine and the limit of my car is higher than I will be going on the street anyway. Having owned and driven a handful 24v E30's, I'm not afraid of handling a little extra kick in the Ti. I have ridden in the Rouge 330ti which felt awesome btw.Just FYI, I owned a '95 ti with an OBD1 converted S52 with cams (as you described, essentially), and during my ownership all I could ever think was "man, I messed up by putting this swap in a ti... what I wouldn't give to put it in a proper e36"
The e36 rear suspension makes a world of difference - especially when it comes to handling that power.
Not to mention it looks significantly better.

Not to mention I don't have to deal with subframe tearing, my curb weight is a rather light 2,750 lbs., I'm nearly 10 in. shorter than an E36 and 4 in. shorter than an E30, I actually have headroom as the E36 coupes have a lower roofline which in turns puts my hair against the ceiling. I also find all E36's boring looking but at least my car is more rare compared to all the coupes/sedans.Last edited by windnsea00; 05-31-2007, 09:47 AM.Past: 1991 330is; 1995 318ti; 1993 325is; 1997 318ti; 1989 332is; 1999 Z3 M CoupeComment

the E30 semi-trailing arm suspension would help the car slide so much more easily than an E36's multilink suspension setup.Comment
