Yea. He has pretty much the same setup that I do, bottom end wise, but with aftermarket parts.

Oh, and I got launch control/flat shift working last night. Cool as shit.

I got a few issues that were plaguing me from the beginning taken care of over the weekend. I was having some really weird voltage spikes/drops that were causing some bucking/hesitation and would randomly cause my LC-1 to turn off and go into heat-up mode. I put a 1000 microfarad capacitor across the power and ground wires for the ECU/LC-1. That cleared up most of it. I'm going to put a resistor on the power side to try and even it out even more, this weekend.

Oh, and I got some go fast goodies today.

I'll have them on tonight and should have a rough guesstimate on what my times should be. It'll be fun.

Well I posted this over in the 24v 1/4 mile thread and thought I should post it here as well.

Good time to post the fun I had Saturday night.
So, I got to run a buddy of mine in his C6 'Vette. He runs 12.80's consistently and is trapping like 118/117. Well, I just (Thursday) got my 225/50/15 BFG DR's mounted on a set of 5 series steelies (15x6.5 et20). I dropped the tire pressure down to 25 psi (then later dropped them to 23 psi and could feel a difference) even though I should have gone down to 20 psi. Did my burnout, then lined up. Turned on the launch control, brought it up to 4000 and then went. I spun in first up until about 6500-6700. I 60 footed the shit out of him and had him all the way through the 1/8. After that, he pulled around me pretty good and at the end of the 1/4, he had me by like 2-3 car lengths. When I crossed the 1/4 mark my MPH was between 105 and 110, wasn't paying that much attention to the speedo.
I look at it this way, once I get my tire pressure in the sweet spot and get the launch control at the correct RPM, then I should be able to pull sub 1.8 60 foot times, as long as I don't snap any axles. There is a test and tune all day next Sunday that I am going to hit up after the AutoX gets over with. That will allow me to figure out tire pressure, launch control, maybe play around with the flat shift feature, and I should be able to find the sweet spot. I'll post it up Sunday evening when I get back.

Note: I don not recommend street racing. It can be hazardous to your health, and the health of others. Take what I have said lightly.

Just curious, i was flipping through the thread. Whyd you weld the oil filter housing thing?

              Any specific reason for that?
              -Chris

Well, the oil filter housing is the same casting as the Euro S50/S54, just without the thermostat installed. So I blocked off the oil flow so that it is forced through the cooler and then back into the motor. That way it is constantly going through the oil cooler.

Well, I'm getting some stuff to help get my nitrous system closer to being done. One of the guys that I know on BimmerForums.com is selling part of his nitrous kit because he didn't like the distribution blocks that it came with. So I am picking up both of the ones he didn't want for 95 bucks.
Here's a picture of what they look like:

                    Should make for some fun.

This is an amazing build thread and an amazing car!
I'm going to be starting a build of my own soon. NV m50 stroked up to 2.8, not quite as balls-to-the-wall as yours but it'll still rip ass! Hopefully!:p
Expect some pm's with questions! Haha

Well, hopefully somebody posts some pictures from the AutoX today on our local forum. I tried to get video of my runs, but NONE of my batteries were good, even though I charged them all night. Sucks. Oh, and after my 2nd or 3rd run my throw out bearing began squealing and making a ruckus. I was able to still post my fastest time on my last run. So, this weekend I get to pull the exhaust, and tranny, and replace the damn TO bearing and make sure everything else is squared up in there. This sucks. I'm going to go ahead and fix my exhaust while I'm at. Fix all the pin holes and make it so it doesn't freaking hit the damn sway bar. Oh, I also get to change out my passenger side axle because the outside boot/spline/cv housing is leaking grease and puking out. Just a bunch of little shit that will take all weekend, nothing too serious.

Well, no one felt like posting pictures from the AutoX, so I don't have any.
I pulled my tranny yesterday. God that sucked, so bad. It only tooke like 4 hours to do it. Pull the tranny and the TO bearing looked fine, had a spare and threw it in anyways. But I did find out what the squealing was. Turns out that some how the pilot bearing had worked itself out of the end of the crank. Weird shit. The mechanic that I work with had never seen it before. I mean, it still fit perfectly in the crank. Still felt like a new pilot bearing should feel like. So I went and found another one and threw it in just in case.
And on to today. I took the longest trip that my car has had done to date. I drove to New Orleans for the big Lake Front Meet. There was the better part of 500 people/cars there. I drove down with about 10 cars from Baton Rouge. We got there at about 10 or so and left like around 5. I literally look like a boiled crawfish/lobster. People are still out at one of the many Sunday night meets so I will be trying to find some pictures of my car and some of the other cars that were there and will be posting them up as I seem them.
I'm tired, so I'm going to sleep.

Ok, I found some pictures. Sorry they are enormous.
Yes I know I need to do another valve cover. The crappy yellow keeps peeling.

I'm still waiting from one of my friends to upload their pictures from the caravan down there.

Well, we had our 2-day divisional event today and yesterday. Southwest Divisional with SCCA. I didn't get any pictures but here are some pictures. We had 100 total entries. A lot of them from Texas, since the 3 other divisional events are in Texas, and a lot of people from all over the state. It was a lot of fun. I wasn't able to get the care to rotate very well until today when I got serious with playing with tire pressure. Saturday I was running 37/39 (F/R) and today I went to 40/39 (F/R) and today, that made ALL the difference. I was able to run the same time, if not faster, than my buddy in his '98 BS M3 (which should technically be in BSP). I also realized that I NEED to move my air intake temp sensor out of the intake plenum and into the intake tract. I was getting BAD heat soak and it was breaking up on the top side due to not injecting enough fuel (thought it was fuel starvation at first since I was under a half tank). I also had to weigh my car before and after my runs on Saturday. Before my runs I was at 2680 and after I was at 2674. Used up 6 lbs. of gas (roughly 1.5 gallons). I've got a lot of little things that I need to do this up coming weekend.
