Yeah, I understand about the S38, especially since you have a nice M20 now. One last question, do you have any plans for a better set of rims?

I do, while I like the Kopi's they simply don't work as well anymore.

I'm really debating what direction I want to go with though..

They are molded into the body, so after sealing them in place I had to paint them on the car, no other way.

Could you please provide me with the PN for the Motor rebuild kit? You can PM me if you'd like. I'm really lazy. Nice car, hoping mine will be that nice sometime in the near future, mine's not too far gone though ;)

Bah, given the $$ he has in it, if he is going to go stand alone, fuck that megasquirt crap.

Autronic or 034. Sure, it'll cost you a little bit, but they are SOOOOO much better.

they can be done well, but why bother with motronic at all? you're still stuck within it's limitations. there are just better alternatives, that's all.

Indeed - I can refer you to my mechanic (you can pm him here, he goes by DTRGuy) who can fill in the details. He just rebuilt for another client what had been a very nice 1.8t VW engine that hydrolocked after a massive fuel dump because of a fault in the megasquirt program. The guy had about several thousand into the engine build and has spent it all over again plus the cost of a reliable warranted ecu and software to replace it.

Look, if you are running a $500 M10 or M20 that is a junkyard setup and have little to lose, fine, but if you are spending the $$ that James did, do it right on your ECU as well.

034 is not all that spendy (compared to Autronic) and in reality wont cost THAT much more than MS for most people.

the plural of anecdote is data?

I have basically the same motor as james - MS is working just fine for me :p

James, what did you use to rewrap the wiring harness? Heatshrink? Or new tape?
