Nice project. Nice H3 your sister has too - thinking of getting one myself for winter(s) and trips with the family.

and why do you say that andy.

But honestly are our cars ever done, are we ever totaly happy with them. I dont know one person taht mods there cars, or races them that is ever finished with there cars. Right now my plan is to get it running with the stock e30 m3 suspeansion, and a built bottom end s14. then working on more of the DTM stuff.

why? BMW won a lot of races with the s14 in the WTCC

S14's aren't the best platform to mod, they're incredibly expensive, and there are cheaper, faster alternatives like M50's and S50's that will give you a lot more options as well.

For the money, an E36 motor will produce way more power for cheaper than an S14 ever will.

WTCC was a long time ago.

                          HATERS!

                          jk

The S14 M3 has its place. With a fairly short engine length, turn-in is immediate and precise. A six cylinder E30 of any type (M20, M50, S50) is slightly less sharp. However, turn-in isn't necessarily the benchmark of good handling, but it certainly feels nice.

                            Yep damn right.

Edit: And I couldnt agree more with you FredK. I drove 2 customer cars back-to-back a couple days ago. Both were E36's, but the concept still works. One was an M42, and the other was and S52. I actually thought that the 4 banger was more fun to drive around the business park. Obviously it wasnt as fast speeding up or slowing down as the M3, but still fun to drive.

I'd like to put a S14 in one of my cars. I just need to sell a few cars so I can afford it..

                              All very good statements.

Also makes you wonder why you would bother replicating the antiquated semi-trailing arm setup used in the E30 DTM cars.

The mods required would no doubt push the car out of most "stock based" classes and into the "Mod" classes, in which case why not fab up a double wishbone or mutli-link rear end for it??
Probably just as much work with far greater gains to be had.

But at the end of the day it's "each to their own", and mad props for the build, keep the pics coming!!!

As iflytii said, best get a rule book for what class you are planning to race in before it's too late!! (sounds like "D-Mod" in which case, lighten the sh!t out of the shell before you get started too!!)
