this entire thread is the textbook example why i have never, and will never post any type of diy thread or take the time to document any type of project with pictures or step by step procedures. what benefit do any of these douchbags get from poopooing someone elses project or making all of these hateful and unproductive remarks? this will be the reason that diy threads and free tutorials will one day dissappear all together.
if threads like this are what you intend to post, feel free to keep it to yourself. or post anyway if you're open to ridicule. we'll enjoy the comic relief.

I'd totally forgotten about using a truck to bend the roll cage bars. lol

Do everyone a favor and don't post any "DIYs" if you're fucking clueless on how to actually do it.

Reminds me of a good quote I saw recently, "If you know, teach. If you don't know, learn."

IDK why everyone has to be so negative on everyone elses but. I really makes the e30 community look like shit. I have seen it first hand in my build. Some people like to show what they are doing and how they are doing it. Who cares what way they do it or what the end result is. Its THEIR BUILD. Keep up the good work man. Build YOUR dream car!

When I was building my m20 powered 2002 I posted the build thread here and shared a lot about my build proses. It was the first time I had ever fabricated anything for a car, and I fucked up a lot of shit.
I dont remember getting any negative useless feed back like this kid is getting. I only got positive criticism that helped me fix my screw ups.
I think that R3V tends to respond to negatively to people who like to show off how much money they have to spend, and who run their mouth about how much they know about building a race car even though they just started their first build. Staying humble will get you a long way on R3V and just about any other internet forum.
Yes I read all 20 pages of this thread before posting. I dig your courage, and the way you dove into this project. How ever you really need to work on being more humble. You will find that people will want to be much more helpful and even friendly.

I think its a common issue for people to mistake someone being proud with being cocky. Especially when its typed on a forum. It only takes on troll.to post a negative comment and it snowballs out of control.

While this is true, some one with a decent grasp of the English language can avoid being mistaken for an arrogant child by expressing them selves correctly.
For example, "even though this is my first build and my work is not perfect, I am very proud of what I have learned and the work I have done. Thanks for all tips and the helpful criticism."
Instead of, "all you guys are haters, and my work is great because I am copying a DTM design and I only buy all the most expensive parts and tools."
See the difference? One of those endears you to your readers and makes you look like a stand up guy trying to learn and make friends. The other makes you look like some one who does not care what others have to say, and who is spoiled and clueless as to what they are doing to their car.
