So obd2 coils mount differently than obd1 coils. Oh well. So i moved on to the MAF sensor. I started messing with different resistors just to the volt meter at idle and didnt really know how big to go. just driving around i found the MAF signal was up to about 5.15V at 5500 rpm so i knew it was maxing out.
So i clipped the wire and rigged up a 1k resistor. The voltage at idle only changed a little. So i threw in a 10k and the car wouldnt run. Tried a 330 ohm just too see and i had one laying around. I drove it this time and my volts at redline was 4.99. all missing/no more balls feelings were gone. So i decided to put in a bigger resistor to see what happened. Put in a 550ish ohm resistor and my voltage at redline is 4.75. Perfect.
So now i have a little head room to up the boost a smidge. ill get that figured out soon. Its great being able to rev to 6500 with no worries. :)
My next question is to figure out wether i should be using a bigger resistor than a 1/4 watt one. Its difficult to see if its hot too. everything on that side of the engine bay gets pretty warm to the touch :(-Chris

So i figured out with my 550ohm resistor i can get to about 8ish psi with no problems. Schweeeetttt.
With cold tires, you can spin em in second which is pretty cool. :)
Boost is addicting. I already want more. 8 psi is pretty fun though. i need to get my new hot side on so boost comes on a little bit earlier and i suppose ill be happy for now.-Chris

So i decided to upgrade to 1/2 watt resistor. I bout 470, 560, and 680 ohm resistors. I got kinda greedy and tried the 680. Seemed to work fine and got rid of the hiccup at 5500 at 8.5psi. Went to go for a drive tonight and it wouldnt idle. Threw the 560 back in and its fine. back to about 7, 7.5 psi and its fine.
Got MS finished!!!!! (i think) I got the adapter all done. I just have to figure out if my board is set up right and then go through all the tables again. I also need to get a battery for my laptop cause as soon as theres no power to it, it turns off. Its really hard to crank the car and see whats happening cause theres no power to my cig lighter when cranking. BALLS-Chris

Bought a JAW (Just another wideband) kit. Im buying a few more v-band clamp kits and getting a 3.15LSD this weekend. Hopefully gettin my new 12cm^2 turbine housing on soon. MS is basically done I have to pull the trigger and make the decision to run the idle control valve right now or not. Once i get my JAW hooked up and good to go im going to be working on MS full steam ahead.
I love working full time ad having the money for shit. Now i just have no time to wrench...
Our little shop here is coming together nicely. My father just picked up a 6.5hp 80 gallon 175 psi Devilbiss compressor that basically kills people. I should have the funds together for my Tig welder soon :)Last edited by So Live; 06-18-2008, 02:23 PM.-Chris

Jaw:
Assembly is very straight forward. No instructions really but all values are printed on the board.
Found a fried lead on my cluster board and a external wire connecting the two points!!!!
I hate service indicator lights so those got removed :)
The almost finished product
The little cover got damaged on install haha. Its just a real light coat of flat black on some lexan. Well see if you can see through the spray paint... I want to get some "window tint paint" for RC cars and make a little translucent cover.
Also bought some new oil fittings cause summit racing -4 AN 90degree hose ends suck. One was leaking at the swivel!
Bought some aeromotive straight ends and found a trick little stainless female/female 90degree fitting. Threw a restrictor in the line too.
That oil fitting change turned into a 2 day project of lets put on my smaller turbine housing haha. Pics of that will come today.-Chris

Finished with my small housing project!!!
I modded the housing pretty heavily. Plugged up all the holes to clean up the flow paths.
Not nearly perfect but much better than a 3/4 inch hole.
The reason i started this mess :)
Theres a reducer inbetween there too which is why i went with a female-female 90* fitting.
Schweeeeet
21cm vs 12cm
Cars so much more fun. Full boost by about 3200 rpm vs 4500 rpm before. Car feels so much more snotty its awesome. Im leaking boost by the waste gate though but i have new gaskets coming tuesday hopefully.
MS here i come!-Chris
