Why did you get a rear cover gasket? New cars don't even have a paper gasket. Just break out the RTV Grey.

So i went with a new 335i today. He pulled me about 1 car legnth from 40 - 125. Im pretty stoked. This is all with an untuned 7 psi and shifting at 6k rpm cause it gets lean up top...
Just got the 3.25 LSD in... What a great upgrade. Its actually pretty civil on the highway and 1st and 2nd gear are much more meaningful. I also think i fixed my waving speedo. New "pulse generator" and the plug that clips into that. It was a good night.Last edited by So Live; 07-31-2008, 09:05 PM.-Chris

Put in a few pulls with an STi. We were pretty damn close. He was ahead of me every race except the one where he missed a shift :) but i hung with em. Ill find out what hes got done to it soon.
That makes me happy cause my car isnt tuned hardly at all and its only at 7psi.
** edit. Said STi is makin 19psi boost and has a turbo back, tune and a few other bolt ons. I guess he had good reason to look kinda disappointed when my untuned 7psi bimmer was chillin at his rear fender :)Last edited by So Live; 08-04-2008, 08:43 PM.-Chris

335's supposedly run about a 13.3-13.5 depending on what you read...
Still not bad for my lowely m50 that made 170 or so whp a few months ago. :)
I wish I would've gone M50 NV turbo like you, but I would go for 400whp with that setup.
STIs from a roll aren't a problem for me. My buddy is on stock turbo w/ turbo back exhaust, injectors, intakem, and a tune and I walk him by a car from 2nd and 3rd rolls. Once he gets a bigger turbo that wont choke like shit at 6k, he'll beat me.Check out Undr8d Empire on Facebook: www.facebook.com/Undr8dEmpireLlc

Thanks bro!! Yeah its getting there slowly but surely. My oil consumption / leakage has gone down considerably with a little RTV on the front timing cover and replacing summit oil fittings with aeroquip and throwing in an inline oil restrictor.
I just bought a bottle of trimix for my welder. Now its legit MIG welding. Its soooooo much nicer on the stainless stuff. Im really excited.
Tomoro is hacking up my exhaust to put another muffler, some more v-band flanges and some real mandrel bends instead of the sectioned together bends :)
Summit actually had a great deal on piping. 3" 16 gauge 304SS mandrel 180* for $22 or so. Cant argue with that... So i bought two 180's and a 14inch 5x8 can stainless magnaflow and the bottle and im good to go.
Im excited!!-Chris

So, i got my Magnaflow mid muffler all installed pretty nicely. I got it done yesterday afternoon and was kinda rushing cause i wanted to go to a party. Needless to say it was about 1 inch too low. It scraped eveywhere lol. So today i cut up the rear half my exhaust and cleaned it up quite a bit. I got rid of a few choppy "bends" and moved the v-band clamp towards the rear of the car so now it wont hit on the heat shield.
It sounds amazing, its exactly what i wanted with my exhaust system. Its a clean sounding, deep tone. Its nice and quiet when you want it to be but it gets lively pretty quickly and now you can hear the engine!!! The turbo whine is awesome.
Im excited.
And real MIG welding doesnt like dirty parts at all haha. I had a head time cleaning the used piping. All the stuff that was clean and where the joint was tight came out pretty good. Its a totally different animal than gasless but its very cool.-Chris

K guys, some good news and some bad news.
Bad news is the head gasket is shot more than likely due to the lack of tuning + the BEGI FMU. I had it coming to me so its whatever.
Good news:
MS is coming along but slowly. I can consistently get the car to idle but only at about 85kpa. Spark on cylinder # 2 is very week and spark on #3 is very inconsistent. Why i have no idea. Its not the out put on the board because 2 is batched with 5 and 3 is with 4 and the other one in the pair is fine. I dont think its the coils because i switch the coils and it doesnt move with em. I rebuilt my adapter harness much cleaner and added new coildrivers and its the same.
I bought:
newsweeden performance Cylinder head flange
15 schedule 10 90's
3 feet of sch10 pipe
t3 flange and 2 wastegate flanges.
Time to make a manifold.
Also purchased:
s50 crank
new arp head studs
upper/lower engine gasket kit
main and rod bearing kits
timing chains
oil pump chain
freeze plugs
pilot bearing
and a few bolts.
Need to pick up
the block ill be building
0.070" MLS gasket
Wiseco 8.8:1 pistons
Eagle rods
arp main studs
oil pump (?)
And then get the machine work done on the block. Making it 86mm bore for s50 spec pistons.
Should be interesting...-Chris
