            cool.

Today I got the bracket back with the newly fabricated ones. They looked brand new! I got a duplicate of the one I gave him, and a mirror image for the other side. You can see the rusty faded one next to the two new ones.

Here is where it will be epoxied into place. Don't mind the marks on the bottom trim around the moonroof, it needs to be masked and one final coat added.

            Will look awesome all together.
I just need to mask and repaint the bottom trim, silicon glue the trop trim, epoxy the brackets on and I'm good to go with the installation. I will be able to have the glass roof in place, slide and tilt-able, but I won't have a headliner slider panel until I buy the new headliner panel assembly and get the correct rails fabricated. One step at a time...
Oh, and I made a home-made manuel for the installation

Sprayed another coat on the top trim and the brackets.

Masked off the mirror to put another coat on the bottom trim

              Turned out nicely

Silicon glued the top trim and is curing overnight.

All that's left is epoxying the brackets on, transferring the gaskets from my sunroof to the moonroof, and swapping the sunroof panel for the moonroof. It's all happening tomorrow. The headliner slider is for another time, that still needs modifications I haven't made yet.

Just store-bought epoxy from Ace Hardware down the street. Is there a specific kind you recommend? I imagine regular epoxy would work well enough given enough time to cure

So I cut the twine and unclipped all the clips and it looked nice.

As expected there was a bit of leakage from the silicon

So I got it all off very carefully and bits of the paint chipped off in the process as expected so I masked up both sides

                    Repainting came out well

                    There's the Shine

                    Sunroof out

                    Gaskets out

                    Re-conditioning of the gaskets

Came out clean, soft, and smooth

                    Inserts like so

Put the rails on for a test

Headliner panel out. It's held in with a little clip

Out, raggy and will be replaced

Set the moonroof in place flush with the roof, and marked with a pencil where the rails will be epoxied

                    Mixed some epoxy up

                    Did the first rail

Mixed some more up and did the second rail.

I wanted to put it in so badly, but it's best to let it cure at least overnight. Pics of the instal will come tomorrow

Moonroof is in. It looks great and really opens up the car nicely. The only problem is gasket clearance. The mechanicals of the roof aren't working as they should due to some sort of hook thing that's way too hard to explain in words. I know what the part is and will be ordering it soon enough. It's able to tilt up ok, but when tilting down, the mechanism inside is jammed a bit and the gasket seems a bit bulky, however the gasket problem may just be related to the broken hook thing. Either way, I'm getting the parts to fix it soon enough.

It's very nice while in the cockpit. I notice that without the slider, it's a bit louder while on the freeway due to the fact that the sunroof had foam insulation to help with noise reduction so when I make my own slider I will find a way to integrate foam into it to help noise reduction. Although, with the slider pulled back there will still be that noise, but that I can't help. It had to be like that installed from factory, there wasn't anything to do about it. Either way it blends very well with the roof line, looks better in person, and is a worth-while addition to the car I think. It really opens up the cockpit.
