Did a stupid little project yesterday.
They make license plate screw caps in Black, white, and blue. But the blue is more of a navy and I wanted the blue to match my license plate so I masked and painted the screw caps to be the same blue as my license plate and masked and painted my license plate frame.
I think it looks nice.
I was going to get a new windshield tomorrow, but I found something that will give priority due to the fact that it is NLA. I can get the windshield any time I want, but this NLA part you will find once in a blue moon. How's that for a teaser?

The epoxy seemed to do the trick
It looks great until you get the very top. For now I'll let it be, I've got other things to take car of. Eventually, I'll probably sell it, get a new one, and take it to an upholsterer who won't f@#k it up like me.
Few tweaks done to the moonroof.
After reading this:
I've learned a lot about the assembly of the moonroof slider.
First off, when sitting in the car with the moonroof, I noticed these little tabs that used to grab the headliner and pull it up when the sunroof tilted, were still there and protruding into view. In the link above, it says to cut them off. So I did just that
Finished result, notice it doesn't protrude over the edge anymore
Same with the other side
The gasket around the moonroof had fitment problems at first, but it's starting to morph and take shape to the roof and slide and tilt more easily.
Another thing about the link above is that it shows that the e28 moonroof was a FACTORY option instead of a US dealer option like the e30. So since it was a factory*option, it has part numbers in the ETK.
#3, still very available and black. This is the handle I'll be using to retrofit the slider... when I eventually do it.
Also, my B-Pillar trim has been nasty for a while. It was faded at first, and tried using "Back to Black" on it. Biggest waste of money I've ever spent. It turned into a drippy looking crap shown here
So I took some paint to it, notice the difference between the unpainted (left) and the painted (right)?
Turned into a VERY nice finish. (slight glare from lighting in garage, but it's a nice and even coat- several light coats).
Other side
This came courtesy of Ben Careful, thanks Ben! It's an OEM Spare Oil Container. Not rare by any means, still available and used on newer cars, but a hefty little addition.
Comes with Funnels, gloves, hand wipes, napkin, and a bag to hold them all with. And then I put my oil in it of course.
My spare oil did go in the part of the trunk tub closest to the front of the car, but with the spare oil case it no longer fits. So since the bottom of the case has velcro, I noticed a spare ledge right next to the tub, and placed it there. It looks nice there and leaves room for whatever IS supposed to go in the trunk tub. I know the first aid kit, and warning triangle go there... but then what?
More info on the mentioned NLA part coming soon...

So after about 7 weeks of waiting in the mail, I finally got the OEM warning triangle shipped to me. Cleaned it up a bit and it came our cherry. If you remember, I used to have the Abraham's Motorsport Warning Triangle and First aid kit, but it didn't fit in my trunk tub. And we have to have it fit in the trunk tub. So I sold it. OEM Warning triangle now fits nicely.
See the little step in the tub? Warning triangle fits there
It now keeps my Spare Oil Case Company. But an OEM first aid kit needs to keep the warning triangle company. That comes soon enough...
The NLA surprise is still coming in the mail...
