It's not the role or duty of the rich to provide for the poor, they worked for their money, and so can the poor. While it would be a nice thing for rich people to help out the poor, the fact is there are alot of poor people who go out and squander all of their money on drugs and addictions and the money would be better spent on privatized treatment systems then on bloated government spending projects that yield zero results.

Obama is going to allow those cuts to expire next year.

there was plenty of outrage. Bush holds the record for the lowest approval ratings in US presidential history. There was a lot of critisism from both sides over his balooning deficits, but it doesn't even hold a candle compared to what the government is doing now. I mean, 2 trillion dollars? Created equal. And we are. That statement is in reference to your humanity, your right to life and freedom and the pursuit of happiness. It doesn't mean that we are equal in every way, we are not automatons or computers. We are people, we are all different and we all have different talents and abilities. To expect that everybody gets exactly the same results is misguided. Every single person in this country has the same opportunity to succeed. Some do, some don't. That's the way it is.

Yesterday, hundreds of thousands of people gathered and protested peacefully.

Not one arrest was made that I know of. No property was destroyed either that I know of.

Had either occurred, it would have been front page news.

Yet the MSM responded by either ignoring/minimizing the event and even ridiculing it with crude, sophomoric jokes about "teabagging" as evidenced by Anderson Cooper of CNN and numerous others at MSNBC

And now, some Democrat from Illinois called the protests "despicable"

Imagine that. Hundreds of thousands of people exercising their 1st Amendment rights in a peaceful, non-violent manner unlike the left who usually tie up traffic, smash windows, get arrested, etc... yet the media ridicules this event and at least one elected representative calls it "despicable" for these people to exercise their 1st Amendment rights in a civil manner.

Much of the media also decided to make note of the fact that a large percentage of the protesters were white, which they never do when people of color protest in a non-peaceful, uncivilized manner.

Earlier in this thread, someone asked me why I was angry.

A big part of the reason why I'm angry is that we don't have any balance or integrity in the mainstream media in this country anymore and that their behavior and bias is an insult to those that don't march to the beat of their drummer.

But the fact that the media gave 78% of their campaign donations to the DNC in the last election cycle and 70% to the DNC since 1990 already proves their inherent bias. It's just insulting to have them behave as if they aren't biased and to demonize and smear people that don't agree with them.
