ouch. i've definitely had many days like that (short board not longboard though). though I never ever skate in shorts, only jeans. I remember getting wrecked and fucking myself up so bad. all the skin gone on both elbows and forearms, all these stitches in my face. shoulders rashed to hell. legs were fine thanks to droors denim

and it is definitely grounds for abuse pushing mongol

That's the same as goofy, right? I've tried to convert and ride normal, but I can't do it.

I was freaking out when I first got up because I thought I had torn into my tattoos. You can see in both shots how close I got.

damn, that looks pretty brutal. and mongo is not the same as goofy. mongo is where you push with your front foot.

best of luck on the recovery, i had a fall the other day aswell. took skin off both my palms, right elbow, and right side of my hip.

the tattoo thing was close as fuck for you man. i made sure when i fell to avoid mine and took the brute of the fall on my right side.

ive skated for years (not longboard) and used countless indy trucks (probably 50 sets?) and ive never broken an indy truck. and thats hard thrashing of street and pools! what a weird way for yours to break. i guess you slammed the curb with it though.
edit- i dunno much about longboards but indy is the best truck for skateboards. ive used lots of others (broken several too) and indys have the best feel, weight, heights, strength, and price. and death to mongo!!! learn to push please, think of how wrong and inefficient mongo is.

            Yeah, that's what I do.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. I'm really sore and kinda on fire, but I've been smacked around worse.

yeah I've never broken an indy either. but I skated thunders all my life. i finally got sick of the axles slipping and switched to indy's when they came out with stage 8's and have been riding indy's ever since. (yet soon after I switched was when thunder redesigned and started that star pattern kingpin thing). though now everyone around here is super into ace's. my buddy got a pair a couple weeks ago and they do turn really well, super surfy feel. awesome trucks. not sure how they hold up, they have a very minimalist hangar. don't know anyone who's broken them yet though

Most people probably aren't doing close to 30 mph when they hit a curb with them dead-on, though lol. I don't know what dipshit put that board together thinking regular skate trucks were a good idea, but that mistake won't be made again. All I want to do now is rebuild it and bomb that same hill again.

in floriland the elevation only changes a few inches or so from coast to coast but theres a great hill in a hood by my old highschool thats like 500 feet at probably 20-30 degree slope and it ends at a big bowl/ditch. we used to bomb it on regular decks and skate the bowl. scary shit especially when i used to skate 7.5" and loose trucks

I ate shit like that bombing a loopy hill with a speed bump in the middle. We were popping over the speedbump successfully until I speedwobbled on the landing and freaking ate it hard.

They took me a lil while to get used to, but once you do, it's EXACTLY like snowboarding.

hahaha ohh man. freebording is the best feeling ever. anyone whos up in WA and wants to try one out, feel free to pm me or something. we have a pretty big crew of freeborders with all my friends and some amazing hills around here.

as for your trucks being standard skate trucks, that was a terrible set up. definately gotta get some longboard trucks and some nice wheels.
