What exactly are you trying to argue? I know the majority of the pot smoking population I've had contact with (And I've smoked my fair share) has little in common with any of the founding fathers. Furthermore, since when does sitting around getting high and eating Doritos give you a an enlightened perspective? You would think educating yourself as much as possible would be a more productive idea than "sitting back and getting high"

Incidentally, most of the quotes in that article are talking about hemp, which is not the weed you smoke.

I will admit that I haven't read the biographies of all the founding fathers. However, I was incredibly interested in US history at one time, I took a college level US history class in high school (which I'm sure many people have) and was a history major in college for a year before I decided it just wasn't for me. I wouldn't consider myself an expert, but I would say I know enough to know if my friends are on par with Thomas Jefferson and the like.

Second, the point is not the similarites between the their personalities BUT to show you great minds smoked and were able to further educate themselves and their ideas by doing so. Its a known FACT that weed is smoked in other countires during all major events, Political meetings, Celebrations, weddings, Holidays, philosophical conversations.

Does it really say that they were able to "further educate themselves" as a result of smoking weed in the article? I sure as hell don't see that. From what I can tell all Honest Abe and Jazzy Jefferson are saying is that it's a moneymaker and it's fun to do in their spare time. Which it is indeed both.

Luckily with the invention of computers we can SIT, stand or lay anywhere and still be able to educate yourself. Stop thinking of smoking weed as a damn govenment commercial.

This is just a stupid argument.

I will say I have no problem with smoking weed, although I have seen a fair share of my friends after smoking too much and they are basically burned out husks. But by all means, do what you want. It's the same as any other thing, it just needs to be used in moderation.

What I DO have a problem with is the morons that think that just because they smoke weed (and only because they smoke weed) they have some sort of enlightened perspective that everyone else is too stupid to realize.
