Ya, I wouldn't do a rear hoop unless you want to push the tail out.
you can do a piece of round pipe between the shock mounts to keep it for walking around under cornering load, or excl. but still be in far enough to look mod/hacked
That ebay seat pan looks fun. Scotch-brite the pan and run some 3/4" race seat foam and your done..

It's tough to see but that's what I'm running as a seat.
Best stuff ever, easy to cut, form, it's sand-able, and it lasts long.
Plus if your in an area that gets alot of rain you can take a can of spray on tool-dip and cover the foam and it keeps the water out and gives it a cool custom made finished look.

I just spent 150 bucks on the custom seat. BUT, thats a great idea for the tank. Maybe make some knee and chest pads for the indention's on the tank? Wonder how it would hold up.

What you guys think of having 1980's yamaha xs1100 to convert into a cafe racer? I rode my friends old 73 honda cb750 and I got bitten by the bug! More research will follow...

xs1100 would be a good bike to build, but the tank is lame, not a favorite of mine :-x

Shoot for the 70's models. The tanks are more awesomer.

I'm very green to these bikes and building them. I don't even have a motorcycle endorsement on my license yet. Engine mods will probably wait a bit. However, the bike has "Screamin Eagle" pipes that I don't totally love the looks of. What 2-1 pipes do you like?

Ok, you and I need to be friends. these bikes are a blast to build..
there like a small block chevy, anything and everthing you throw at it makes it run better than it did on the show room floor..

You can do anything to them..
I have this carb fully jetted and setup for you + two extra jet kits and a stock load of parts avalible..
I'll give you the carb & jet kits for $60. + shipping.
I also have an extra set of cylinders and pistons for the 883 in black
I have valve covers and much more crap sitting in my Shop wasting space. So at some time if you want them let me know..

The pipes you have are crap, the SE pipes are stockers uncorked..

Any 2-1 pipe will do better than what you got..
                                Find one "you" like..

I have a stream line seat and a few other thing to make it look better you can have too..

OH i think I have a set of higher lift cams for the 883 too but I'll have to look.

pm me when you get a chance... :pimp:
