How many miles do you have under your belt that you would consider yourself an experienced rider?
At 25k miles I was beginning to consider myself a GOOD rider, not great. And that means fast, consistent, few mistakes, aggresively defensive in traffic.....riding your buddies bike around town a few times doesn't make you experienced.
^ very true....
I wouldn't even say I had 1k miles under my belt...
I just get the feeling that i'm so in control when I'm on it... I'm somewhat mild manner in traffic. I like being able to cut off and pass but I know its never a good idea so I dont do it. When driving arund others saftey is my priority, then my destination....
I like to do little stunts n stuf so the bike may get layed... I love wheelies, indo's, peg stands n all that stupid stuff.... Probably wont do all of that on my own bike tho...
I don't deny the fact that i'm still a beginner. That doesnt mean I should buy the cheapest pos bike possible tho. at least I dont think so...

You'll be fine iof your not experianced. Just don't underestimate you bike and keep an eye on everything. Old people are dangerous. Don't go out and start trying to be a stunter iether. Id say ride the hills as much as you can at first to learn your bike. I put 5k in my first month on my first bike.
Im only 24 but had a lot of realy good riders to learn from. They were iether sponserd stunters or track riders.
I had a lot of close calls. I've been hit by a 2x4 that fell off a truck and I got pretty much nocked on the tail buy a knuckle butser that fell off a big rig at 90mph. That fractured my chest.
Just be smart on a bike. There's a lot of granades on the raod if they try and ride with you Id stay away from them even if they are your friends.
If you have motorcross experiance it doesn't mean shit. Sportbikes are a whole differnt ball game.

thanks man..
you all have been very helpful..
helped clear the hype out my head of owning a 1000
z3, ur a fag.. jk... but I have plenty of good rider fam that I learn from
Its sitting in the garage now awaiting pics and a carb install.
I'm taking off the plastics now and going to buy a new battery and some harley headlight with visors. I'm going naked (streetfighter) style.
pros,
everythings new except 2-3 things
body is straight
bored to ????
cons,
needs new battery and some plastic work
trailing arm looks like sumthin from the 70's.. its so square
I cant wait to get it running again. had it turned over, oil is clean, im pretty confident in my purchase. I wanna extend the rear tail about 1 inches as well as the trailing arm.
I still have enough to start preping the e30. I need to pay rent where my booth is and then I'm selling the damn booth. Hopefully I'll have the e30 ready for winter.
lots of folks have been tellin me to get rid of the old rectifier system and try to go FI...
I also wanna get a newer 750 trailer arm...
I wouldnt upgrade the r/r on that bike. They are actually pretty good( I had a 97 with 32k miles) and it never failed. They are a bit heavier and down on hp that newer 600's but thats good. 90% of people cant ride a 600 near its full potential. btw, if ya want, I have a set of race body work (superbike tail) that I can let go for cheap.
