I don't really think people care about that flip side of the coin. People are just so fucking sick of the bullshit going on in our country and its showing. Granted I agree that it probably just adds to the animosity towards gun rights, but like I said, people don't give a fuck anymore.

There are many many things that can be done, that does not mean they should.

The person that brings the gun may have no intention of using it, what if some nut grabs it and kills people?

These events are incindeary as it is, there is no need to bring matches near gasoline.

We don't have thought crimes legislation in this country, this isn't minority report. He has a right to bring a gun wherever he wants.
If it were really that big of a deal, the secret service can legally widen its perimeter and confiscate the weapon or ask the gentleman to leave.
Plus in reality, he'll be shot between the eyes as soon as he moves to that gun, he wouldn't know what hit him.

I bet all of those dudes were surrounded by plain clothes, like flies to shit. The media makes a big deal about it and gets people in a frenzy, but the secret service isn't stupid has contingencies for the 'special circumstances' of this presidency.

What I see is a problem, is the fact that now this gun thing at presidential rallies and other town hall events has become a national flashpoint. People are now taking sides and both side are ARMED with not enough information. Discourse is good, talking points are bad. My worry is that people who wouldn't normally bring a gun to these types of events will do it just because they can with no real purpose. They'll be on edge because the only reason they're bringing their gun is as a show of solidarity and as a symbol counter to people who oppose that very action. So there is an inherent conflict brewing compounded with opposition to the government policies.
