and anyone who says this program hasn't help can come get a job at toyota here in georgetown kentucky, USA!!! they have regained/ started hiring on new people. and no it wont be gone in a month or before they start. if it would they would have just hired more temps and or only reextented hours for the people still on the line. but they not only reextented hours for the shifts but have started to hire on alot more people. they are not stupid and know how to use their work force to the max.

Say what you want about the program. I have my reservations about it too. But the goal was to sell cars, stimulate the auto industry and get older, less efficient cars off the road. It did accomplish all 3 of those goals.

Prove it, of course there are some people who had the financial ability to take on car payments, but the fact of the matter is, a good amount of people who traded in their cars CANNOT take on monthly car payments, which is why they were driving pieces of shit around.
This was a horrible program and I'm glad to finally see it go. We'll start seeing the effects of this shortly.

I know about 7-8 people that went out and used this program. All of them traded in a 15+ year old beater second car and got a nice deal on a new vehicle. None of them are going to have any issues paying for the car.

The program did exactly as it was intended. It stimulated auto sales near the end of the model year, tossed a bunch of 09 inventory off the lot, and got the upper middle class tightwads who've been scared shitless to open their wallets back up again. You know, the group that is the backbone of our consumer based economy.

You can be angry at this program for whatever esoteric reasons that Ron Paul or Glen Beck told you to be pissed off about, but it's not a "failure". It did exactly what they intended it to do.

Hahaha! At least learn to spell correctly! For the record, since I live with a Canadian and my voice teacher is a Frenchman, both of them absolutely HATE their respective healthcare systems! My housemate's grandfather had to wait 3 weeks for a heart surgery! His mom spent an extra week in the hospital waiting for chemotherapy. My Voice Teacher left France because he did not like the government, the healthcare and the rest of the lot!
