I have about 24 chickens in my backyard, I also have a huge track of public land right up against my yard they roam around in. The chicken's have a coop, But they mainly roam the land behind my house and sleep in the trees. Luckily they lay in the coop and nowhere else I can find.

And my neighbors don't mind cause they get fresh eggs all the time. I wish I had some property like you Farbin, Soon enough...

Thanks, it's been a long time coming, and it's been nowhere as easy as I had hoped.

So are you going to tend the ol' homestead while your wife goes to work? This reminds me of another character on r3vlimited...

I'm thinking about getting a Yak next summer also.

Here is a picture out of the back of the place. The fishing is pretty good here, and there are some great holes down the way.

So whats the deal with this place? Did you move in with friends, family, or you relocated for a job and moved by yourself? I always thought this was a strange change for a crazy Cali person like yourself.

No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.

My brother in law has two wild turkeys on the property. Not afraid of people. I'm guessing they were raised somewhere and got loose...

They are awesome to have around.

Actually, I'm thinking about hatching some turkens. It's a hybrid blend of turkey size, with chicken style taste.

So far, my math shows that my family needs two full butchered cows a year to not need the visits to the grocery store for meet.

(I also have grazing goats clearing the land, and a full packed henhouse giving about a dozen eggs a day too.)

Garden next season, as I got started this year a bit later than I planned.
Sounds good. Does your math show whether or not your saving money by going this route? Just curious, I have no idea what it takes to buy/raise/butcher a cow.
