    have you thought about fish pens in the river? Fresh fish, super low maintenance, and no feeding.

    I need fresh salmon to be catching, that would be nice. I do agree, you live a whole different life when you know where, and how your food got to you.

    Awesome. It feels so much better when you cultivate catch, grow, raise, hunt, your own food doesn't it? My family has a rural beach cabin up here in WA with a private strip of beach. We don't grow or raise our own food but there is TONS of seafood for the taking. I like to spend my days off there fishing for salmon, catching dungeness crab and collecting oysters, mussels and clams. It is so satisfying to prepare a meal from food that was just swimming an hour earlier. I hope to eventually get a vegetable garden going and raise some animals as well.
