Funny the Hall of Fame is right across the river, I don't pay any attention to it. It has barely one large event a year and it's on the verge of being bankrupt.

MJ always will be a favorite as many other big name 80-90's players now no interest.

I wasn't even a basketball fan in my youth, but I always tuned into the NBA Playoffs. Ice water clearly flowed through the man's veins.

I remember the first full season he was back, the Father's Day game to clinch the playoffs, it was just such a powerful moment after they beat the Sonics and after winning, he was on the locker room floor crying.

Grew up a diehard Knicks fan and I still am sadly :(
Michael had some his best magic against the Knicks, I am honored to have seen him play in Garden many times! 'It's gotta be the shoes Michael'
He was certainly a bonafide superstar with an amazing talent and personality

I was born in '82 and when I was young, my family pretty much lived on the road for business. We spent a lot of time in North Carolina in the early 80's and Chicago in the late '80's. Some of the customers were telling my dad about a "kid at UNC". From then on, my whole family was hooked and I have great memories watching those games with them. When Jordan left the game, I quit watching, even though I love basketball. That is, until the next 23 came along. Now I love going back home and watching games again with my pops.

he was crying after the sonics game because that was the year his pops was murdered.

When subject of greatest of all time would come up, it would usually be between him and the other MJ - magic johnson. I used to side with him, but i think Jordan's career in the end went above and beyond Magic's.

I was a knicks fan, and that motherfucker gave us fits. Dude had the flu and still scored 47 points in a playoff game against us. he 'retires', we beat the bulls. he 'unretires', we get our asses handed to us again.

i also remember the suns/bulls playoffs. The bulls beat the knicks, the suns were on a hot streak (remember westphal guaranteeing to come back from behind in the playoffs to go to the finals?) Danny Ainge, Dan Majerle, and Barkley, who i was huge fan of, cuz I played the same position he did. MJ and the Bulls shut them down.

So i hated him, but you got to respect how well that guy did in the clutch. And how he basically stayed in the same colors for his entire career. i say that because his 2nd unretirement is best forgotten about. He was a professional, bankable star, and alot of people in the sport and business world owe him their careers as well.

I dont know who would ever fill his shoes in that respect, its a far different game now. Its kinda like how no one could really step to Richard Petty's level in his sport, simply because the game and attitude towards it and its peripherals has changed so much.

In other words, props to MJ. he probably could have gotten inducted the day he hung up his jersey.

As long as you ignore his mistresses (that he paid off to keep quiet) and the children he fathered with them.

                        amirite?

But as a basketball player a genius, greatest of all time.

Michael Jordan was the last true player of the NBA that didn't let everything get to his head like LeBron and Kobe. I was a big fan of the Bulls when Pippen and Jordan were in. Other than that, I have yet to sit down and watch a basketball game again. The game isn't the same as it was in the 1990's. I still consider Jordan to be the best basketball player.

I wonder how Patrick Dempsey is.

I realize some may not get the connection. Michael Jordan owns an AMA team. Dempsey owns a Mazda race team.

I used to look up to Michael Jordan until I saw a video Chamillionaire (yeah, sounds kinda gay...) made after his encounter with Michael Jordan. Turns out MJ is kinda a huge douche.
