The really scary thing is the devaluation of the currency that is going on. Oil isnt really getting more expensive, its just that the dollar (which is used in trading) is losing value. Part because of the depressed economy but mostly because of the HUGE budget gap even by the administration's rosy standards. The nation itself is becoming one of thsoe "sub-prime" borrowers.

The scary thing is inflation is down because nobody is buying shit and makers were smart to hold prices and shrink products (because people dont notice). So when people start buying again real inflation will return.

If Bush is responsible for the terrorist attack then Obama must be responsible for the recession since both happened in the very beginning of their terms. The crazy arabs were planning Sept 11th back in the 90s and even tried to blow the place up well before that. The govt didnt
