I'm running the academy. I got on late tonight and put a handful of laps on each course and I'm in the top 100 for all but tsukuba. I suck at that one, and I think most people actually know it so the times are a lot closer. Overall position in region is 87 right now. I'll try to put some real laps in tomorrow.

The Bonus races are the shit. Hard, but sweet. LOTS of money and exp points!
I ran the SS5 one, crawled my way up to 4th, but still 28 seconds behind the Ford GT...

And right now, I'm cursing at my second B-spec driver. Who is trying to lose his first race at Susuki by applying the brakes ON THE FRONT STRAIGHT!!!!!! Where's the bitch-slap button? yup. last corner. he just got passed.... And after he had a 5 second lead after the first lap.... He is a rubber mallet.

How do you make money on the bonus race like the drift one?

Oh yeah 396th in my region for Tsukuba... havn't tried the others

yup. I use square for downshifting, X for up and O for handbrake

no money or exp from the time trial or drift as far as I can tell. Just bragging rights (those events seem a LOT like forza...)

But for the 'Bonus Race', you get monies and points. Its the 2nd item in the seasonal events (between GT academy and time trial). Big incentive to do well, as the first (but only first) time you race it, you get the money and points from your finishing position plus every car you beat (after that, you only get $/pts for improving you finish). 4th place on SS-5 with a GTR got me $450,000 and 45000 points. Went into that race after just getting level 20, left the race damn close to level 21. I think winning on the first shot would net 1 mil and 100,000 pts.

It looks like they are setting up specific cars to use for these - finally some place to use some of the random crap (er, cars) in the game.


I fail to see the difference between the 'used cars' and the 'online dealer', other than the 'online' one, the cars stay longer... (~4.6 mil for the formula car right now....). Maybe they will add ability to auctionof your cars. Gee, starting to sound a LOT like Forza.....

GT-Rs for SS-5

'08 Fiat 500 for the first one, a '90 RX-7 for third one, and '70 Dodge R/T. Can't remember the 2nd one. Check'em out. The restrictions/rules are spelled out pretty clear. To win, you will most likely need to mod right to or as close to the limits as you can. Note.... comfort/sport tires are one of the reqs....

I might try a different GT-R to get the weight down. Although some more suspension tuning and then not spinning in turn 1 and the horse-shoe on the second lap would help considerably as well.... :???: I don't even have the cars needed for the others yet, but I do have a load of cash now. :mrgreen:

I'm doing the Formula Gran Turismo races now...hardest races in the game ten fold.. anyone else doing/done these?

So. Took my ps3 to my friends house and downloaded the update I just hope that when I get home I can enter some without being connected to psn.
