There should be billions of time travelers here right now. Where are they?

Well fuck, backwards time travel is nothing but a theory. Hell it's not even that because it goes against the laws of physics. It is IMPOSSIBLE. The paradoxes of time travel further demonstrate this fact.

I think that it is conceivable that in the distant future we may be able to view the past in some way. Like some sort of movie. Technically, when we look at distant objects in space, we are seeing them as they existed long ago. It takes light years to travel to Earth even from the closest stars. Something along these lines may be discovered which will allow us to see how Earth once looked. We will never be able to interact with the past though.

I really recommend reading the "Paradoxes of Time Travel" by David Lewis. It is a short and very cool read.
You could have virtual time travel, IE it isn't going into the past of your universe, but going into the present of lets say the year 1953 of a universe exactly like ours.

And by "could" I mean theoretically of course, and avoid the paradoxes of the standard model, if it was possible to jump from universe to parallel universe.

Not alien related, but the whole idea of gamma-ray bursters is pretty crazy. Like staring down the barrel of the death star, except lots of them. While NASA said we're not in any current danger in 2006 (when this article was written) we might be at some point considering the dynamic nature of the universe.

As far as I'm concerned the chances of us drifting into the crosshairs of one of those gamma-ray bursters are probably insignificant. I think an alien invasion is likely just as improbable. But that's my feeling, and it's not based on anything really.

      On a side note...

There is no way mathematically that some of the "Wonders Of The World" could have been built with out some sort of advanced technology.
I saw the sister-program to this, Ancient Aliens, on the history channel a few days ago. I thought it was interesting, for example, how could ancient people have cut the grooves in the rocks at pumapunku?

The spiral in the sky in Norway is one of those things that gets me thinking, too. Maybe aliens are messing around with us. It certainly would explain how Obama got his Nobel, and how he is still around and pushing his paper when only 26% of voters approve, and 41% disapprove the way he's behaved as president. I wonder... what if Obama is an alien, and he's part of an alien plot to destroy the world?!

In all seriousness though, fuck Obama. And fuck the aliens for putting him here.

If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30

You people saying that the universe is infinite are dead wrong. It is well known that the universe is expanding... that means it is definitely finite.

It is finite but still unfathomably large. So large in fact that the odds of there being other inhabitable planets and intelligent beings are actually very good.

How do you know? Time is all in your head anyway, so tell us how something that is nothing more then a persons perception can have laws. Also I would like you to prove how time only flows in one direction. Ever go on a long car ride with a few friends? When you get out of the car some people may feel like it only took a short amount of time, others feel like it took forever. Just because humans put limits on time with clocks and dates, does not mean anything. Time is a relative perception. Just because the gears inside a watch turn at the same rate all the time does not mean they are at all in line with the flow of time.

That fact alone proves nothing at all about how large or small the universe is. I can have an infinite pool of water, as long as I keep adding water it will continue to expand, it was and still is infinite, just expanding. All that your fact proves is that everything is moving, does not prove anything about limits. OH and since you seem to be the only person who ever believed that the universe has limits, tell us all, what happens when you get to the end? Is there just a huge black hole? and then to add to that, what happens to all the mass lose into black holes? where does it go? to think that there are borders or limits on something like space is dumb.

Everything is relative, the universe seems "infinite" to us because we are like a speck in the grand scheme of things, same way an ant would view our planet as infinite.

Time travel may be possible, but we as the human race weren't around long enough because we killed ourselves and planet earth with global warming.....hippies of the world unite!
