Just picked up a great set of headphones. AblePlanet. They sound fantastic and were 50 dollars cheaper than the Bose equivilant. I think they sound better too.
the in-the-box headphones that come with SE Walkman phones are my best friends, they take a hell of a lot of abuse and still sound great and look great, i had a pair of sony's that didnt last half as long as these
So i'm looking to get some decent of IEMs (i have Audio Technica ATH-M50s as my full size headphones) and would like something with solid bass, but still with a detailed and clean sound. I'm not a bass head, but I can't stand not being able to hear the lower frequencies on songs when i know they are there.
Right now, I'm looking at either the Hippo VB, Panasonic RP-HJE900, and Audio Technica ATH-CKS70. I'm trying to stay under $100.
A lot of my research thus far has come from head-fi.org and THIS THREAD in particular.
My high-dollar setup has been the Sennheiser HD600's for years now, and will likely remain so for some time to come. My cheapo cans are the HD201, which are definitely the best sub-$100 cans i've heard.

Any recommendations?
Do you want earbuds or IEMs? They are two different things. Most IEMs will have great bass extension as they form a seal with your ear. Most are also very clear. Honestly you'd be hard pressed to find an IEM that didn't fit those criteria.
I haven't had any true earbuds besides what came with ipods/iphones, but in terms of IEMs I've been through some Sennheiser CX300s, bunch of Sony MDR-EX71s and now I'm on a pair of $20 Skull Candies (was poor) and a set of Klipsch Image S2 (or S-somethings, they were like $50 at Best Buy and I had a $50 gift card). Honestly of all of them the cheapest (Skull Candy) had the most bass but they've all extended very deep, and the more expensive ones were clearer and more pleasing to listen to. I'd get any of them again without hesitation, but they were all in the $50 range.
I finally upgraded to some slightly better earbuds, I had been rocking some $30 Sony's for years. Got some Ultimate Ears Fi5 or whatever. Bigger drivers, far more sound. Ive noticed a huge difference on the phone because with the cheaper ones I had to crank it up on the output, making that slight hissing. With the UEs I can have the phone cranked way down and still get the same output with much better range/response.
I've been using Sony's MDR-EX90's for 3 years now. I love them. Good low's and high's with little distortion. Not sure if they still make them though. They where around 100 bucks when I got them.

I want IEMs. I just thought it was another name for earbuds, but if i understand right, IEMs extend into the ear canal and earbuds just rest in the opening of the ear.
