Man I want to but I just don't know how to deal with the stock speed on them, or lack thereof. I am already looking at GY6 swaps and big bore kits and everything adds up real quick.

Where would you go with it? And how fast realistically do you need to go? I went all around seattle today and never tapped out. Kept up with traffic just fine.

Mine is an 87, so it is a tad different:

Much better looking than a ruckus, but I guess that is opinion :P
There are no 150cc ruckus' around here, but the lightly modded one's my friends have will cruise at 40-45 on flat ground. Once it hits a hill they suck though. I can still pass traffic up hills, unless they are speeding (then I really don't need to pass anyway). I almost want to get a speeding ticket on the flat highway just for bragging rights (almost :P).

A buddy's bike has some of the goodies: stroker motor, stretched mount:

        Disc conversion, oversized rotor:

All around town here the roads are 45mph. Everyone does at least 50. I can get to work and back on 35mph side roads for the most part, but if I were to make a jaunt over to a neighboring city I would like to be able to keep up at 50mph. I know with some tweaking people have seen low 50s on stock bores but I want to be able to hit that speed and maintain it relatively easily.

Then yea, swap or backroads are your options as i see it.

Banana Hammock? Other than being fast, I don't get it. I know I've never been able to wheelie a ruckus (yet).

Isn't that the rubberducky ruckus or something? That build doesn't count until it is done. So sick, yet no updates last I looked :(

Would a honda 125 dirtbike engine and tranny fit under a ruck?

It's project racous, it gets updated from time to time... And the elites are cooler than a lot of scooters, but not a ruck IMO

I'm going to have to agree. And before you get all :puppy:, I do agree they are cool. But really only ideal for city usage, yeah?

My buddies yamaha zuma he had was ugly as sin but we beat the piss out of that thing in the woods and whatnot. That thing had a hell of a life. These ruckus majiggers are more of artsy mobiles in my eyes.

what about not having any of the uber gay fairings makes it in any way "artsy"???

I dont understand the pull that the elite or the zuma has on anyone other than women. The ruck is a fun fool around toy to have. It gets me to work(12 miles) and back with no problems at all. I keep up with traffic just fine and hill climbs aren't a problem either. I know its just my opinion on the zumas and the elites but it is what it is. Dont take anything to heart guys.

But really, I dont see why someone wouldnt want something fun and cheap to mod and ride around.

not useless at all. honestly, in seattle, an e30 is more useless. better mpg, easier to park, more reliable, no insurance, free parking on campus...
