Most of you have never been in a country run by communists.
Hell, I spent my childhood summers in one, and trust me, there are different kinds of socialism. Hungary was a bit weak sauce compared to some of the other eastern european countrys, but it left strong a distaste for old sovjet.

I´m a middle man. I would never stand for living in a place run by pure communism OR capitalism. Extremism in any form or way is a very dangerous thing.

Poll: Fox most trusted name in news
            By: Andy Barr
            January 26, 2010 05:35 PM EST

Fox is the most trusted television news network in the country, according to a new poll out Tuesday.

A Public Policy Polling nationwide survey of 1,151 registered voters Jan. 18-19 found that 49 percent of Americans trusted Fox News, 10 percentage points more than any other network.

Thirty-seven percent said they didn’t trust Fox, also the lowest level of distrust that any of the networks recorded.

There was a strong partisan split among those who said they trusted Fox — with 74 percent of Republicans saying they trusted the network, while only 30 percent of Democrats said they did.

CNN was the second-most-trusted network, getting the trust of 39 percent of those polled. Forty-one percent said they didn’t trust CNN.

Each of the three major networks was trusted by less than 40 percent of those surveyed, with NBC ranking highest at 35 percent. Forty-four percent said they did not trust NBC, which was combined with its sister cable station MSNBC.

Thirty-two percent of respondents said they trusted CBS, while 31 percent trusted ABC. Both CBS and ABC were not trusted by 46 percent of those polled.

“A generation ago you would have expected Americans to place their trust in the most neutral and unbiased conveyors of news,” said PPP President Dean Debnam in his analysis of the poll. “But the media landscape has really changed, and now they’re turning more toward the outlets that tell them what they want to hear.”

The telephone poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.

                    Bzzzzzt!

It wouldn't have anything to do with the alphabet channels' descent into liberal hysterics. Oh no, it has to be the stupid public's inability to recognize the alphabets' "superiority" and instead flocking to the news channel that tells these intellectually lazy people how to think, right?

                    Wrong!

Perhaps you need some more evidence and more convincing?

                      Campaign donations, 2008:

$297,187 was given by people who identified their occupation as "journalist"

$22,076 from 28 people to Republicans.
$275,111 from 312 people to Democrats.

70% of MSM campaign donations have gone to the Dems since 1990

Fox News provided the most fair & balanced election coverage last year.

MSNBC was the most biased. (Favored Obama)
                      (Pew Research)

The MSM showed a bias against McCain while favoring Obama.
                      (Pew Research)

                      Fox most balanced (Forbes)

Bottom line is that FNC gave Obama and McCain the exact same coverage, with a slight edge to Obama:

                      Positive Obama Stories 25%
                      Positive McCain Stories 22%

                      Negative Obama Stories 40%
                      Negative McCain Stories 40%

Meanwhile, the rest of the MSM gave Obama overwhelmingly positive coverage while giving the opposite to McCain

And, according to Gallup, 64% of the public said that the MSM are not doing a good job of holding Obama responsible for his actions:

While nearly half of Democrats (45%) say the news media did an excellent or good job in their watchdog role during the first year of the Obama administration, fewer independents (29%) and Republicans (30%) agree.

Gallup also showed FNC to be the most balanced when it came to covering the 2008 election.

The URL I had bookmarked is 404, but a search might find it.

This is how and why FNC became the most trusted news source.
Not to mention the top rated cable news.

And note: No sourcing wing-nut, partisan, agenda-driven web sites or sources, except for HuffPo which was used to track donations by Journalists.

For those that are not intellectually lazy, I would suggest visiting each URL posted above and reading the contents from the non-biased sources as they will prove me right.

One thing about me when it comes to political debates - I never take a position or make a statement unless I have non-partisan sources to back it up.

Gotta make up for lost time...

The Pew (PEJ) report for the 2008 election cycle is out.

                            Among the findings?

FOXNEWS provided the most balanced cable coverage of the 2008 presidential election among major news outlets (CNN, MSNBC, FOXNEWS) and likely the most balanced of all six outlets (NBC, CBS, ABC included), although they oddly didnt release the latter three network's numbers. Keep in mind, while Pew bills itself as Independent, it certainly leans to the left, which is probably why they didn't release all the numbers. God forbid they stated Fox News was the most fair of any television network, as it's doubtful any network bested the Fox numbers below since the Fox positive/negative are almost a perfect match. Interestingly, while they released the numbers for MSNBC and FOX, they didnt release individual CNN numbers, choosing to say it closely reflected the "Total Coverage" numbers below, putting it somewhere between MSNBC and FOX.

The Best (least biased) and the Worst (most biased) news coverage?

                            BEST (FOXNEWS)
                            Positive Obama Stories 25%
                            Positive McCain Stories 22%
                            Negative Obama Stories 40%
                            Negative McCain Stories 40%

                            WORST (MSNBC)
                            Positive Obama Stories 73%
                            Positive McCain Stories 10%
                            Negative Obama Stories 14%
                            Negative McCain Stories 43%

TOTAL COVERAGE (all media added together - 2,412 stories from 48 outlets)
                            Positive Obama Stories 36%
                            Positive McCain Stories 14%
                            Negative Obama Stories 29%
                            Negative McCain Stories 57%

                            Source: Pew Research.

                            Perhaps FNC isn't "right wing"
Perhaps the rest of the MSM is so far left-of-center, that by comparison, FNC is right in the middle.

At least that's what the 2008 election coverage says.

Huh what? Who said that? A right to a low price of a limited good? Preposterous! That doesn't sound like free markets at all...

You know who subsidizes gas to make it cheap for its citizens? China.
