I have to agree there... another good point. There is plenty of variation in past climate, including the Little Ice Age (~1600AD) as well as fairly recent warm periods. The scary bit is when you look at how quickly the climate and oceans have warmed over the past 100 years or so...

This winter in spokane is so much nicer than last year. You guys should have been this side of the state, had snow everywhere last 2 years, its amazing to not have any. Although having a brand new libtech board and no snow is gay.

Please do not get me into a debate... I'm too tired.

At a very simple level, global warming makes sense entirely... the temperature of earth (as with any physical body) is a result of the net radiation gain or loss, therefore taking into account the total incoming radiation and total outgoing radiation. Water is infact the biggest greenhouse gas. You should realise why if you understand some basic physics/chemistry. Water has been around just about forever as far as we're concerned.
What has changed, however, is the increase in CO2 and methane levels... the two other most potent greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere. These increases result in less of the incoming radiation from the sun being transmitted back into space. Translation: Global Warming.
    It's not neuroscience.

What is happening this year is El Nino... and apparently a stong one. Google is your friend (even if I do think they are trying to take over the world).
There are so many factors involved in determining local climate conditions at any one time... hence why the weather guy is wrong so often.

And, before you go calling scientists "unscientific" and "smart-asses" perhaps you should consider what they had to do to achieve their knowledge and influence, vs. what oil companies had to do to achieve their influence.
That's right, who's got something to lose if we cut oil usage? Not the scientists. And who's got something to really gain by calling it a hoax? That's right, the oil companies.

No hate against another r3v-er, but I do suggest however that you take a good think about your opinions on the idea that global warming is a hoax.

My areas only had about 3-4 snow storms this winter.. really blows. Unlike the year before, that number was probably 20ish.

I have not been home since May, and prolly wont get home this winter to hit the hill, but we only have about 131 inches up there, we are well below average again this year, normal is 300 inches a year and with a month or so left, not gonna make it.

Talked to some friends and I guess we are getting more rain in the valley this year than we have snow

Roads are finally clear here. I'm going for a short cruise this afternoon to check out the snow scenes.

We got a weak excuse for snow last night. Only lasted about 1 hour and is now completely gone. It completely hopped over SC... FML.

I'm also tired of the cold. You guys are more than welcome to come here and take it back with you. Our cheap ass college apartments aren't built for extreme weather conditions (hot or cold). NO insulation... cinderblock walls.

Not to mention, it's killing our local economy, as well as hundreds of others in the PNW that depend on the snow for winter-time recreation/employment/economy.

    Please come get it.

Most people can't drive in it, there isn't sufficient money in the budgets to handle two storms like we've had in the last month, so getting around is a huge pain in the ass.

Thankfully we had quite a bit of sun yesterday, so most of the roads are already clear again.
