Reasons up top are somewhat stupid...

    1. It is a BMW
    2. Leather FTW
    3. Features that even some newer cars don't yet have
    4. It's a classic... Or at least is quickly becoming one.
    5. Becoming rare, and good shape ones are becoming hard to find.
    6. Girls love them.

And isn't prestigious just another word for shiny? Wax that prestige on and enjoy all the attention and envy...

its not "prestigious" and I dont think it ever was, it does however have more class than it should.

Girls love the crank handle. And breaking stuff in them like said crank handle and glove box latches.

No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.

This is a good quote and I am going to use it in real life.

                No they're not prestigious.

Not to sound like a tool bag, which I'll surely sound like now, but- Really the only E30's that are "special" or even maybe "prestigious" would be the E30 M3. I only say that because of the limited number produced and history.

The E30 itself IMO is a great car (I own three, two being non-M's), but there really is nothing overly special about them.

Just as someone said earlier, If you say you drive a BMW people tend to get excited, but when you tell them what year they'll respond with "oh". I even get it with my M3.

The only people that would ever drop jaw at my POS were neon owners, weird.

And the CAMARO doesn't have heritage? It's like the fucking pinacle of "american muscle"... Not my cup of tea, but still, not without some heritage.
Datsun didnt make a 240sx, they made a 280Z. In fact, fuck the 240 all together. Because in Japan, its not even a 240sx. Its a completely different car. The chassis is the only thing that resembles the real deal in japan for US versions. Not the same. I mean, if we're talking E30 as it sits in Europe, this is a whole other conversation. In fact, now that I think about it, the 280Z is related to the 300ZX, not the 240sx. Either way its "borrowed" Porsche technology.
Edit: Forgot they made several flavors of Z's. So the 240Z exists. Still, fuck Nissan.

they came with alot of tech and some pretty cool options that were ahead of their time. besides, when it comes down to it, i drive a bimmer, not a dodge.

Why is a 25 year old bimmer cooler than a 25 year old dodge. I mean, the shelby omni probably outperformed the E30 M3 in it's day... though that should probably be compared to some factory tuned M3...

I get some looks in my e30, but probably because kids think the kirk rollbar is a "roll cage" and the sound coming out of the exhaust is something other than a warmed over NV M50.
