And why is that? I think there is only 1 other state that doesn't require car insurance. I am glad they are making it mandatory due to all the drunks on the road here. They also need to get on the ball with emissions and inspections. OBD2 cars get a quick scan but nothing else. 1996 and older dont require any sort of inspection. So you get a lot of clapped out cars on the road with unsafe tires and brakes, no working lights, not to mention all the cars with holes rusted through the frames.

Our weather contributes heavily to this (mainly hail). Homeowners insurance is equally expensive because of this. Also the cost of uninsured/underinsured coverage do to the large number of rednecks/white trash/illegals with no insurance.
But $1800 a month? Fuck.
