there are only two real downfalls to that Supra...

      1. Gas mileage is not great (especially since you are going to use it as a daily)
      2. it's not a turbo.

For the $5k, I would try and look for something better on gas.

Kinda cool, but I wouldn't get it unless it was more like $1500. I can see the appeal, but MKIIIs are boats.

SW20 MR2s are awesome and super fun as long as you don't mind a seriously cramped engine bay. The 3SGTE is a good motor, too. However I'd be weary when buying one.

98 Camry. I know this is a car enthusiast forum, but it does not sound like you want to make the right decision. The v-6 Camry is most likely faster than this non-turbo Supra you are looking at anyways. What's this thing you have with low miles anyways? I'm sure a Toyota with 30k is going to have more problems from sitting than one in the 100k range. Car's don't like to sit.

Why you want a car with an ANEMIC straight six and is HEAVY as hell is beyond me, but if it floats your boat.

<200 HP and 3700lbs sounds like a RIOT.

DD means good on gas and is reliable. I don't see rotaries being all that reliable or "cheap" to maintain. That v6 camry is a good idea. A TDI jetta is really good on gas, but I'm not to fond of how reliable it is. 45mpg FTW

an FC rx7 gets about 27-28mpg while cruising. thats not bad at all. it'll do 2500rpms at highway speeds. good gearing.

the fc is far more reliable than the fd. its not a v6 camry though. but i'd shoot myself before owning a fwd econobox. hating myself everytime i step into my car is not worth it.

+1 for a mid nineties turbo mr2. those are great cars!
