^I've thought about that as well. Buy a cheap used commuter car live a Civic or something and buy a new sportbike.

I just think of how little I was riding the last one on the street after I started tracking it. The streets became much scarier.

these are a rarity round Buddy's parts, so he wouldn't be just another STi down there.

I guess I should ask you what you do for a living.. Because personally if i was allowed to have only one vehicle, it'd be a van. Its my rolling tool-box, i tow with it, and when i get forclosed on I can go sleep in it.. If i had a desk job it'd have to be a somewhat roomy sedan with some go. e39 M5, Legacy GT, an S4 perhaps? But even then whenever I need a truck for whatever im doing on the weekends, it always sucks to have to borrow one..

True, but I just did a quick search, STis (and even WRXs) seem to hold their value very well. At least if the asking price is taken into consideration. So an STi is probably out.

Yup, Tech Writer, so I've got a deskjob. I'm terrified of any modern German car when it comes to maintenance.

Big problem is our terrible roads. I think so far this year there have 5 emergency shutdowns of MAJOR highways due to sinkholes and bridges spontaneously developing holes in teh road bed. So you can imagine how sucky the rest of the roads are.

I think I'm going to go test drive a MazdaSpeed3 after work today.

This would pass as Non-BMW on a technicality. Everyone knows it's a fact that all of the Bronzit E30's were built by the commies in East Germany.

I really want to drive one. STI speed comes pretty easy in those cars, plus you have all the extra room and class.
                      maybe if you're a soccer mom. Otherwise it's a 3500lb tank with sub-200hp.

WRX Hands down... of course I'm bias, but I absolutely LOVE my wagon. I would even suggest getting a wagon.

Not much more than my WRX wagon. They still feel quite nimble! Lol Obviously not compared to your AWD E30... but :p

Just get a Z06. Even for a Vette, parts are cheap (especially compared to newer German car parts) and damn near any head/cam combo will get 500+ to the wheels.
