Ive been bitching and moaning about the left lane bandits since before I had a license, hearing my pops cursing them out. Now I just try to focus on anything but laying down a grand or two on the loudest most outrageous air horn known to man.

People just do not know the law/rule. We're car guys so driving properly is somewhat important for us- As for the other 99% of the population, they dont get cited for it, therefore it must be ok.
In Florida things are very laid back and corrupt. There was literally a seat belt ROAD BLOCK with 20 cops- While pulled over receiving my 150 dollar smack in the face, a girl on her cell phone almost ran one of the cops over. Cell phones being legal in FL, i found that a bit ironic. Sure, crash all you want, just be safe doing it

Yeah, it's not about staring into the mirrors, it's about being aware of them and scanning them with your peripherals and creating a "zone" so to speak around your car in which you know what is going on so you can make emergency manoevers.

That is awesome here you would get a big nasty following to closely, driving to fast for conditions, and failure to control the vehicle tickets for that. All in all I prolly would have done the same, bet that guy will not brake check a truck again
We exchanged info, I'm getting the bumper fully polished :). Cop was pretty reasonable, I simply explained that I was building up speed (slight uphill), as I can't just go from 60 to merging speed in 100 yards. Truck that was behind me pulled over too (as a witness) and I didn't know what he was pulling and didn't want to stomp on the brakes myself, because truck on truck isn't pretty. The guy in the Kia was screaming bloody murder, but the cop told him that in the future it would be wise not to play games with trucks.

its not about your safety or protection you from your self (not a job of the state to begin with but..........) its all about revenue generation, you know something stupid that should not be a concern of the state BUT IS SINCE THEY CAN EXTRACT TONS OF MONEY OUTTA YOUR WALLET to close budget gaps it is NOW.

yeah that 30 was an exaggeration, but you get the idea.

THIS, absolutely. Which is also why in a 3+ lane highway the center lane is usually the safest lane to travel in.
